I consider the Creation story in the Bible to be the "I'll explain this in terms you can understand" story that God told his early followers. Much like we might tell a small child that the sun is like a big ball of fire. I believe that God actively guided the universe and evolutionary processes to arrive at us and continues to do so.

The hebrew word "yom" that is commonly translated as "day" in the Biblical account of creation is better translated as "a period of time" It is such a vague term that it could be millions or billions of years, rather than literal 24-hour days.

I personally believe in Creationism ...We do not know how long a day is to God which could explain enough. We are not supposed to know everything frankly I think if God was to show us we would probably implode. That's why its called Faith.

With that being said.. I do also believe in evolution to a certain extent (maybe adaption would be a better word). I believe if man evolved from a monkey that we monkeys would still be evolving in the jungle to become humans.... However look at the Galapagos Islands.. there are species of birds, lizards, tortoises, fish etc. that are found no where else on earth. There are also species found in the jungles and on different continents that have adapted to certain climates and living conditions. I believe that may be why we have different skin tones in the beautiful human race, because of different climates...our insides are the same, but I believe God adjusted the melatonin/ skin pigments (I hope I got that term right otherwise I will look pretty dumb and you will all jump down my throat =) so that we could live in certain climates without our skin frying and falling off...now of course with travel and things this is different today than it was lets say 3,000 years ago or however old anyone thinks the earth is.
Europe is cooler than Africa for example.

It's impossible to link them. Either the Bible is true in all that is written or it isn't. Now if we are talking about a book written by man, then I can understand errors. But if the Bible is as it claim it is, there can be no errors at all. The book of Genesis lists the days and what was created on those days in a specific order. Millions of years between those days would have brought death. It only fits when you interpret it as it was written. Let me say this too, darwinian evolution is falling apart day by day. Funny thing is, science is doing it. don't get caught up in the fallacy. Evolution is pure speculation and they know it. If I and all the generations after me live in a condo on the beach and look longingly at the water, dipping ourselves in the water daily, wishing we had gills, do you think one person in my generation would get them? Wish all you want - it won't happen.

It is mentioned in the Bible that a thousand years is like a day to God, and a day is like a thousand years; In other words, time has no meaning in the Kingdom of God. It is like a boundless realm. God suspended space and time in order for us to exist. If you ever enter His Kingdom, time will have no meaning there. It's all explained in a beautiful story called Genesis. How exactly it was done, only God knows! Even the best minds(which He created) on the planet can't give definitive answers. The proof is found in biblical prophecy.

In a spectrum of belief, there are those creationists who basically use the bible as a scientific text and believe in its literal truth (ie the world is only 6000 years old). Then there are those who basically accept the theory of evolution, but believe there's a divine power who has guided it. Evolution as a theory doesn't speak of any divine source, just natural selection to describe how speciation occurred and continues to occur.

In older times, people saw God in everything: weather, sickness, famine, floods, planetary and solar motion, etc. As people grew more knowledgable, by and large they slowly accepted scientific explanations for those natural phenomena. However God seems to maintain a foothold in two areas: the creation of the universe/earth, and the creation of humans. What I hope is that a growing majority come to the understanding that these are mere natural phenomena as well. It's already happened in Western Europe, and I continue to wonder why the U.S. population lags behind.

Logically they can not both be true because the Bible is giving a clear theological message which is in direct contradiction to the message of evolution. Evolution necessarily requires death as a transition instrument to get from a to b to c etc.
The Bible clearly states that death entered the world through sin; specifically the disobedience of man who disobeyed God's instruction. Therefore both can not be true.

vide:
Romans 5:12 (Whole Chapter)
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

In other words for evolution death is normal (and one may assume good) - whereas in God's creation death enters after man disobeys God and man is fully formed and developed.

Yes, they both can be true. Many things in the Bible are more figurative than literal. It is very true that what is recorded as a "day" could be a million years. Besides it even says in the Bible, in 2 Peter 3:8, "But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day."

If evolution means the gradual change of one thing to another, and creation is one thing being created using other things, then they are the same. However, if metaphysically you mean creation of one thing from another, then it can't possibly be evolution, since evolution requires one thing to change into another.

Only God can create out of nothing. Why? cause I said so b*tches. How then did everything come about? No reason.

No evolution and creation won't be able to the two be authentic. For one element the Bible needless to say states that creation took 6 days, and on the seventh day God rested. some human beings decide to declare that for the period of between each and on a daily basis there's a million years, or that God's "day" isn't the comparable as guy's day, the place is the experience in that? it style of feels to me that the evolutionist attempt to make the Bible in nice condition into their account of what got here approximately to offer them extra credit. The Bible got here in the previous the thought of evolution, so which you may desire to question the place the evolutionist are growing to be to be the advice. yet another element if evolution got here approximately in between the days, how do you account for various memories...creation: God spoke, and it got here approximately....evolution: thousands and thousands, billions of years, and then there develop right into a huge bang. the vast bang in itself does not make experience. think of approximately it. The evolutionist says that once the vast bang got here approximately there develop into order, and a appropriate international made. final time I checked each and every time there is an explosion or a collission, it honestly does not create order. in certainty it creates chaos. think of of the hurricanes, the twin towers, etc. i do no longer mean any disrespect to any of those mess ups, in simple terms employing them to make a component. In each and each of those circumstances there develop into confusion, harm, chaos, and discomfort. you could no longer convince me that the vast bang is a real account according to technological know-how.

Have you really ever thought about the plausibility of evolution?
Let me help you:
1. There isn't enough time for the small rodent like mammals left after the last extinguishing event to bring them to the size and variety of the mammals the roamed the earth during the major ice age that followed.
2. Viruses have been known to man for approximately the last 200 years. During that time there have been billions of generations, yet never has a virus jumped species. Yes the have varied but they remain viruses.. Jim
