My students are going to ballroom competition next Saturday. They are 8th graders and I need for them to be modest. Can someone help me?

If I were you, I would take them to the nearest dance clothing store for ballet. They usually sell costuming as well as shoes and leotards. I would put them in rather simple clothes and accessorize them. Understand I only suggest this because you don't have much time.

While at the comp, see if there are any vendors there so that in future, they will have more appropriate attire. You can have costuming done for children that is still flashy enough to be comp worthy without being ... "too adult".

Another alternative is to see if the school you teach at has any dance clothing magazines with order forms. They usually take a long time to deliver the clothes, but you can usually find decent costuming in those magazines for cheap.

I assume they will be competing rather than just spectating.

You ought to ask the organizers what kind of dress is expected for your kids. It will vary depending on the the competition, the type of dance in which they are competing, their ages, and the level at which they are competing.

Depending on the particulars, a costume could be required, optional or forbidden. You need to ask.
