Beligum currency is Euro.
Weather is warm in summer, so bring some light clothes as well as a sweater and possibly some rain protection just in case.
Belgium has a lot of shops also, you can get everything. All European major brands inclusive the top of the range you get in Brussels, Gent and Antwerp. Belgium is famous for its lace and also chocolate. make sure you taste some :-)

enjoy your journey!

On February 28, 2002 Belgium and several other countries decided to "give up" their own currency (Belgium Franc) and to "adopt" the Euro, meaning the Euro is the only legally accepted currency in the country.

As far as clothes to wear, pretty much whatever you're wearing now here in the US is acceptable in Belgium. However, try doing an Internet search such as Yahoo or Google and use the Image search feature. Try something like Belgium Teen or Girl and see what they are wearing in the image (photo) results that are given.

Belgium uses the Euro, which costs $1.37.

So if they charge 2 euros for a coffee, it's
$2.74 in U.S. dollars.

Be prepared for RAIN in Belgium. Try to find some cargo pants that are made of some nylon blend that will dry fast, also shorts and skirts (if it's warm enough) are better in rain than jeans.
Get some ankle boots or cool looking lug shoes or sneakers that are WATERPROOF, since wet feet is not a good feeling. It can be cool in the summer if it's rainy, or you may be lucky and get some sun, then you'll have your shorts on and can stay cool. If you've got money, don't take many clothes.... It's really fun to shop over there. But take lightweight things that DRY fast, so I don't recommend jean jackets or leather or cotton sweatshirts or sweaters. Take a WATERPROOF rain jacket, not just WATER-resistant. Get a jacket with GORE-TEX. They make them in black with some pockets with zip closures that are great to keep your passport and tickets in. Young people over there wear a lot of black clothes. Take a small folding umbrella that will fit in your jacket pocket, and if you wear glasses, a hat or cap with a brim. I cannot stress enough to you that it's so much nicer walking in the rain when you have on clothing that keeps you and your feet dry.

Well first you should know belgium is in the EU and uses the Euro.

As for what to wear.. stay away from white tennis shoes (if you are american). It seems that people from belgium dress nicer than in the states. But I don't think your wardrobe has to be too different. (I am not sure how you dress now and I am very very unsure about how teenage girls dress in general)

But anyways maybe my travel blog can help you prepare for your trip. I have a lot of tips about traveling europe ...
