..does it really make them any smarter by thinking we will change our minds believing in God? Their ignorance has actually reinforced my faith..so I guess that's one thing I can thank them for.

I never watch the Discovery Channel, for what that's worth. I learn from sources of all kinds, any source whatsoever, and believe what I believe and dismiss what makes no sense to me. It's call thinking and learning for yourself, you should try it some time, it can be quite satisfying and enlightening. Few atheists, if any, have faithfulness to one doctrine or man. They're too independently minded to blindly follow anyone. Believe it or not, when I read Richard Dawkin's book "The God Delusion", there were points on which I personally disagreed or doubted his words. In atheist circles, however, this practice is not condemned as heresy as it is in religion. No one gets righteously offended. The real dumb follower is the one who believes that all of the wisdom in the entire world is contained in one single book written thousands of years ago and does not even consider looking elsewhere. Those people who watch The Discovery Channel have certainly never heard it said by anyone that they should not watch The Learning Channel, National Geographic Channel, The History Channel or avoid any other source of knowledge in the way that religion demands loyalty. Feel free to give me a thumb down for disagreeing with you.

Atheism: The Illogical Choice

I don't think Christianity is dumb, I just think that the people who practice it are closed mined and judge mental--but not dumb.

And if Christians think atheists are dumb will it make you guys any smarter by thinking we'll change our minds about what we believe if you shove a Bible in our faces and tell us to read?

Really?Because most christians i met think atheists are mislead, stupid, basically any name in the book. It's also pretty stupid of you that you actually ''reinforced'' your faith simply because some atheists are calling christians stupid. You probably change your mind alot.

No, we don't think they're all dumb. There's some smart Christians, albeit misinformed. I get frustrated when people refuse to listen to common sense.

Usually atheists do NOT attack people of other religions.. atheists are very peaceful. They only get up in arms when other people tell them fallacies such as "You're going to hell" or something similar. Anyone would be upset at such a threat. I can't tell you how many times I've been told that I'm going to hell. Wouldn't you be mad and try to make them reconsider their views after being told that so many times?

There's a direct relationship between lack of religiosity and the measurable indicators of intelligence.

It's the smart theists that are really sad cases.

I'd just like to know why they deliberately attack us. Why so mean? You'd think if they were that sure they were right, they would try and convince us - are they so 'dumb' that they don't realize that youre not going to get anyone to believe anything you have to say when youre saying it with loathing? Maybe it's because they *know* we won't change, but they need to know that we're open minded enough to listen to their views...we're just sick of the insults. It gets so repetitious... they act like those who attack when they are afraid of something...

I don't think you're dumb.

I think you've been hoodwinked by a for-profit community that wants you to keep positive messages going out about their business enterprise so folks will continue to pour massive amounts of money into its coffers.

If you're all wrapped up in believing in the existance of someone that you cannot produce, provide a credible picture of, come up with a verifiable voice recording of, or even provide handwriting or fingerprint evidence of, more power to you. But it would be hypocritical of you to dismiss believers in bigfoot or aliens or daffy duck, now wouldn't it?

What a surprise. A true believer who justifies his belief in the ridicule of others.

atheists as a whole do not think chrisitans are dumb. don't let the few atheists you know make you believe that they are all a certain way.
