Test to see if you are a Real Christian
The bible says, “Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test?” (2 Corinthians 13:5)
Here is the test
1) After you prayed a prayer and took Jesus into your life is it ok to deliberately keep sinning? The answer is NO! Our salvation is not a license to sin. They are godless men, who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord. (Jude 1:4) If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. How much more severely do you think a man deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God under foot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace? (Hebrew 10:26-29)
2) Do you claim to have fellowship with Jesus but walk in darkness? This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth. (1 John 1:6-7)
3) Do you claim to be without sin? If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives. (1 John 1 8-10)
4) Do you claim to know Jesus and do what he commands? We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands. The man who says, "I know him," but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him. (1 John 2:3-4)
5) Do you try to be like Jesus in the way he lived? Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did. (1 John 2:6) When we want to be like someone we imitate their actions. Do you live the way that Jesus showed us? When we walk like Jesus did, then we do not make provisions to sin. We exceptional do not pay to sin.
6) Are you growing in Christ? Was there every a time in your life that you loved the Lord more? Once we have the fire for God, we will never lose it. People who fall away from God never knew Him! Once you know Jesus you will never want to fall away. The life Jesus has for us is so much better then any other life style. Yet I am writing you a new command; its truth is seen in him and you, because the darkness is passing and the true light is already shining. (1 John 2:8) This passage means that we already have evidence of God in our lives. Once we come to God we start passing away from the darkness into light.
7) Do you love all Christians? Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates his brother is still in the darkness. Whoever loves his brother lives in the light, and there is nothing in him to make him stumble. But whoever hates his brother is in the darkness and walks around in the darkness; he does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded him. (1 John 2:9-11) When this passage says brother, it is saying brother in Christ. A brother in Christ is a fellow Christian. We are supposed to be one in love with other believers. If we do not love, but hate we do not know the God of love. We are never supposed to hate other people in Christ. We are only supposed to hate evil.
8) Do you love the world or anything in it? Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For everything in the world—the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does—comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever. (1 John 2:15-17) Do you love you earthly possessions more then God? Do you give to others in need? Do you realize that everything you have is a gift of God? Do you love money over God? Do you seem to never be satisfied and always want more? Possessions of the world, no matter have many you have, will never satisfy. Only God can fill or emptiness.
9) Which list describes your life more? List 1: The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. (Galatians 5:19-21) Or list 2: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. (Galatians 5:22-23) Notice this list did not say the fruits but the fruit of the spirit. This means you either have all of the fruits or you are not on this list.
So how did you do? If you failed one question you might need to examine what the bible is telling you. We are not supposed to compare ourselves with Christians. We are supposed to compare ourselves with Jesus. Just because you prayed a prayer one day does not mean you will go to heaven. The bible does not say that anywhere in it. Being a Christian means you are conforming to God and not the world. It means you are giving up your life and following after God. If you believe this message is wrong email us and show us in the bible where we are wrong. We will repent and ask God for forgiveness. But if you cannot prove this message wrong maybe just maybe that God is trying to get your attention.
Right now I plead with you to just start praying to God and tell Him what is on your heart. There is no magic prayer that will save you. We are to put our faith in God not a prayer.

many human beings think of they're Christians. Even in my region numerous the seventy 5,000 inhabitants will boost their hands up if asked this question that they are 'Christian.' yet what does this term quite mean? It ability to be a Christ follower who believes in each be conscious that proceeds from the mouth of God. And this God needless to say stated that if we upload or subtract to those recorded words we don't belong to Him and could be cursed. the very certainty that the Mormons have tried to rewrite the Bible via publishing their very own version of it noted as, 'The e book of Mormon' proves that they do no longer belong to God. each thing approximately this sect, their doctrines, and what they pontificate is opposite to Gods recorded be conscious. Its so cleverly performed that the traditional individual who has approximately 20% Bible know-how does not come across it, and so be led off course. And if Joel Olsteen says this then he himself is a faux prophet.

I believe Mr. Osteen is a good man. Yet, I realize that he is one sided, doctrinally. But, his ministry has done much to help many Christians realize their potential in Christ. His book has also caught the attention of unsaved people who began to inquire about Christ.
I forget where it is in Paul's letters, but he was glad that the Gospel was being preached, even if it was by people who seemed a little eccentric.
Besides, if you actually listen to Joel Osteen, you will find he does not claim a life in a bed of roses. In interviews, he also claims no such thing. Yet, he does paint some nice pictures, I agree. I do not follow after his teachings, but I respect that God has him where He does.

Helper725, You are absolutely correct. You named Joel Osteen but name any preacher on TV for that matter and about 99% of preachers period. There a very few that teach the truth. I know of only one.

I believe it is a false doctrine that suggests that God does not want to see his children prosper.
It is also false doctrine for example to suggest that money is the root of all evil, it is not. It is the 'love' of money that is. It is idolatry and covetous.
1Ti 6:10
For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. (KJV)

That's up to God to decide. Don't worry about the other Christians. Just tend to your own heart to have God make it right in His eyes.
God Bless You!

Jesus answered to something similar in the Bible when the disciples wanted to scold some men for casting out demons in His name. Jesus said, "If they aren't against us, then they are for us." Christians aren't perfect - just forgiven. However, when the Holy Spirit comes in He is more than able to finish what He starts in us.
