I have a friend in Phoenix wants to go into this field. Will this become obsolete as MRI is becoming more commong place?

Any thoughts, or suggestions on this feild?

You must mean radiologic technologist, as a radiologist is a doctor who specializes in the interpretation of medical images such as MRI scans, CT scans, radiographs, nuclear medicine scans, mammograms and sonograms.

I don't see regular x-ray going anywhere. Insurance companies are not going to pay for an MRI for a possible broken toe or something when they can do x-rays.

I think is quite bad because of the radiations he would be exposed to. A teacher told us not to choose this domain if we plan to have healthy children..or have children at all.
