My coughing started when my aunt rented people to plant flowers in our garden. I think I have an allergic reaction to pollen and fertilizer, but I don't know. It's been going on for a week now, and I take medication, but it makes it worst! Please help

You may have allergies and/or asthma. Believe it or not, you be allergic to allergy medications. There could be an ingredient in it that you are reacting to.

I would definitely go see an allergist to sort it all out and make sure that is not something more serious.

This is a common reaction when you have allergies. You could be allergic to the flowers that were put in. A lot of times when you have allergies, you have a stuffy nose which causes drainage to go down your throat, hence the coughing. I'm not sure what kind of medication you are taking, but the most common is some sort of antihistime. There are several to choose from, but the strongest over the counter is Benadryl. Keep in mind that it WILL make you tired. There is also claritin, which used to be perscrption and now is available over the counter. It's not as strong as the benadryl, but it won't make you tired. If you have a lot of congestion, I would recommend you to the pharmacy counter and ask for claritin-D (it will be behind the pharmacy counter because it has the old formula of sudafed which works the BEST). Hope you're feeling better soon.

It is possible. Get tested, wear a mask when you go outside, and ask your aunt to talk with her gardeners.

Also keep in mind that fertilizers are not good to breathe.

Good luck!
