It all depends on who you ask!
If you are just starting off, it may be hard at first . . . but with practice, the skating part may get easier. But it's that way with a lot of things/sports you do . . . once you get familiar with it and apply yourself, it's possible it may not be as hard as you thought it was.
BUT
As you get advanced, the moves get harder. Some moves are harder than others. At that point, if anything, ice skating is about hard work! (But that can be said about other sports as well).
It's all relative. To a non-skater, a waltz jump could seem hard. But as I've skated, a waltz jump is not hard. But if you ask me about a quad axel, oh yea, it's hard!
:)

All depends on what type of person you are. If you are willing to fall a few times or if you are the type of person who can easily take to things then you are fine. It is different for each person though.
I took six 16/17 girls ice skating. Half had skated before the other half had not. One did a lap and gave up, one took to it straight away, the others just eased their way in but by the end they were really enjoying themselves.
Give it a go, all that can happen is a few bruises,

If you have good balance and a good attitude, ice skating is easy.
If you're not the "Try It!" type, think about taking lessons when you're just starting out. It makes it easier when you have someone who can give you some pointers about the basics.
(Like keeping your feet straight and not leaning every which way.)
Use figure skates for the first few weeks - they're easier to learn on than hockey skates. You can always switch once you've got your "ice feet!"

like everything new we try it takes a while to get used to..
if you haven't done it before then it takes time to get used to balancing and moving about on the ice...
if you're new to skating and want to try it out go ahead! its a brilliant skill to have. try group lessons, they're fun and you get to meet lotsa new people =)
some things in ice skating are hard, but once you get them right then you feel awesome and you feel like you've really earned it =)

yes when you just start, and if you don't start skating when ur young it's hard. It does take a lot of work at stoping and going backwards also. However, it is very fun and enjoyable to skate for fun or for a sport, like hockey.I would recommend it.

It's hard to comment on this, as I started at the tender age of 6. But eventually, most of people get a hang of it, can balance and even have fun. It's hard at first, as you don't know how to balance, where the gravity is, as it differs substantially from walking or running. The biggest trouble for beginners is to keep posture upright and bend the knees. They tend to wobble front and back a lot which causes falls. My husband is a good example. Plus, he does not want to listen, as I try to teach him stroking. But, balance first, then stroking.

It can be somewhat hard when you first get on the ice, and have never been before, but once you get used to it- it starts to get easier.

It depends upon your sense of balance, and ankle strength.
I have lousy balance, but I learned.
