I'm so glad it has picked up, I have been a bit disappointed with it this series. The Master is incredible. I can't wait for next week. What do you guys all think? (Aside from the fact that I'm a sad git, obviously).

Sorry Rommie, I'm in the UK, so we're now onto the tenth doctor, I believe the first series with the ninth doctor (Chris Eccleston) has just been shown on the SciFi channel).

Frantopia - the Master is an old character from the original series. He disappeared off the radar some time ago, so it was presumed he was dead. It was never a confirmed fact that the doctor was the last timelord, he believed he was because all the others who returned to Gallifrey to fight the time war were killed.

David - I have to say that it has got better towards the end of the series. I think I'm just not warming to Martha although she is getting better.

Yes!!!!!!!!!! The Master is back and he's already committed genocide (by killing Chantho who was the last of her race). Wonderful to see the most evil of the renegade Timelords back in action. Certain questions need to be asked regarding the character though - see my answer to this question - http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070616120449AAmX2J5&r=w&pa=FZptHWf.BGRX3OFMiTZVUqcb0qmMtVm6tOSMoYXZ5Pz.eKV2BQ--&paid=answered#QJ9bH3jfEWttX.JSuYSi

I don't think this series has been disappointing in the slightest actually. The weaker episodes in this series have been as good as some of the stronger ones in the last series in my opinion. As is becoming usual now in Doctor Who, the performances from the actors in "Utopia" were superb in every case. Very well done in particular to young John Bell who got the part of Creet as a prize in a Blue Peter competition. Considering it was the first part of a three part story it was also written very well, and of course Graeme Harper's direction was faultless as always (he has previously directed classics such as "The Caves of Androzani" and more recently "42").

Great episode and I can't wait for part two of the story "The Sound of Drums" next week.

I KNOW!! well if you are a sad git then so am I. I just loved it and am sooo looking forward to next week. I think this series has being good there is something missing in it maybe because the Doctor has become colder in my opinion since he lost Rose. (By the way do people think she should either come back or just stopped being talked about ever episode)
I loved the interplay between him and Jack they look like they are having fun making it.
Roll on next week

i think with all the hype towards this episode it was quite obvious that the master was coming back...did anyone realise that Mr. Saxon (which he was called before we knew his first name) or 'Mister. Saxon' is an anagram of Master No. Six as he is the sixth incarnation of the master? But the episode was still great, can't wait till next week to see 'the sound of drums'...

Just read your answer spacephantom and wanted you to know - i did not copy this info you

Really good to see THE MASTER and it was a great choice of actor too. I just wish he had his gotee !!!

Tha MASTER will be great as he is the anti-Dr character and they are so evenly matched. (Well THE MASTER is slightly ahead as his TARDIS works fully AND he does not care about the human race).

I cannot wait to see the MASTERS Tardis.

I disagree, the series IS still very good, just a couple of slow episodes, nothing more.

It was fantastic! I loved tonight's episode and it's brilliant that the master is back.

The only pity is that the series is nearly over just as it starts to get going.

Even Martha is becoming less annoying!

OMG a three-parter. I'm torn between excitement amd instant gratification. I want to know what happens NOW.

An amazing episode, it had me and my daughter on the edge of our seats. I have found the writing this season to be full of twists and tension, and real fear factor moments.

A sad git and proud of it!!!
