How would you describe a jealous person?
What makes people jealous?

What effect does jealousy have on the person who is feeling that way?

Differentiate «jealous» and «envious».

Just curious on what ya'll think......

Insecure, full of doubt, wants to bring you to their level.

Usually happy when they cause trouble.

I have found people in high ranking positions in jobs, churches, clubs and fraternal organizations to be this way and they are frequently the ones people go to for counsel when they have problems.

They frequently enjoy the suffering of others

A Person Who Is Jealous

jealousy occurs because the person wants something someone else has (aka greediness/selfishness) they do everything to bring the "victim" down such as downplaying their situation or changing the subject when it's about that or just being a complete ***** about it.

the person feels as though they deserve the situation and they will either block out the person or just make them miserable by taking what they have.

jealousy occurs in everyone, but especially those who are very competitive. it's one of the 7 deadly sins and very hard to control. it takes a lot of practice to actually get over a jealous feeling..

jealousy can be described so many ways. One could be your mate is a jealous person and wants you only to themselves, and the other can be a friend/family who is jealous of what you have and would try to ruin you every chance you get!

It has been my experience that "Jealous" means that they are guilty of what they're jealous over. Rich people will hoard money away and be jealous of the person richer than them ... People who cheat on their partners are often guilty of accusing to scape-goat the blame off of them onto their partner.

Envy is more wishing for stuff that you don't have ... I wish I were rich ... I wish I had the perfect nose.

Description - someone I would avoid.
Causes - anything you care to mention.
Effect on person - embittering.
Jealous might also be used to define someone who is possessive, whilst envious is more precise, meaning The Green-eyed Monster!

i think a jealous person is one whose longing for something they feel they don't have.
they have some kind of inner conflict that makes them act this way.
it should make them feel bad and try to resolve these issues that make them act this way.
I've been there, and it's not fun. I am working on fixing this issue, but I'm not perfect. I used to feel this way about my significant other, and I was constantly beating myself up about it.

i would say that it is all right for a person to be jelous as everyone does want something they cant get, a jealous person can be a true friend to someone only if they dont act on their jelousy and try to get what they want by unfair or hurtful methords
