Windows Movie Maker. Do I really need a "Video Capture Device" to edit my movies on Movie Maker?

I saw some of these devices on sale online for $55.00 to $95.00. Crazy! All i want to do is some simple editing of videos to make them into home movies. Is there a simpler way and better way than Window's Movie Maker?

You dont need that. Just import the videos already on your computer and edit them.
