I really want to get rid of that damn center bearing on my truck, is it doable to replace it with a one piece drive line or is there a really good reason I shouldn't.

take it to a drive-line shop, they can fix you up

The only problem you may encounter is with the crossmember that supports the bearing. If you have light suspension, the driveshaft may rub when loaded. Check the angles and see. You might have to take out or modify the crossmember. With the lift kit it might clear, but you may have to get some caster shims for a solid front axle to put on your rear springs to get the proper angle.

Yes this works. Just remember when you start changing the angles to extremes you may need to change trans/differental angles to give the u joints longevity.
