In the past year maybe, I've had about 7 different dreams involving a tornado. Every dream is a little different (in one dream it was actually the end of the world and volcanoes were erupting as well). But even though they are all different, they all involve me looking out a window and seeing the funnel cloud actually form out of the sky and hit the ground. I had the dream again last night and was actually hiding from the funnel behind a tree. It felt as if it were like a person or something, looking for me. It disappeared but I could still feel it was there, invisible and looking for me. Anyone have any thing to say about what this might mean?

Wow! This is a very profound dream indeed. Obviously, if you have been having this (or similar) for a year, I think you should pay attention.

Each part of our dreams is usually a symbolic representation of ourselves. These could represent feelings or your actual physical body. They could also be signals telling you about someone else, but mostly it is probably yourself that is being represented in your dream. Sometimes repeated dreams can represent repressed feelings that you are not even aware of having. I also believe that, sometimes, or for some individuals, some dreams can be an actual warning or litteral. But I believe most dreams are our feelings put into pictures (ie- symbolic).

Dreams are full of subconscience pictures that can often help us to better understand ourselves. If you are really interested in learning more about what your dreams means, I would suggest keeping a notepad at your bedside & writing them down (this can be difficult b/c often our dreams are scattered & vague & hard to put into words).

Obviously you yourself would be the best interpretor of your own dreams, b/c they would not mean the same to me as they would to you, but... It sounds like your dreams have a few major themes: the tornadoes & you looking out a window. A tornado may be a strong indication of (or that you may feel there is) impending danger. The fact that you are looking out (as opposed to in) a widow could signify that you are not sure about going out "into the world", or maybe you are trying to make a decision about something & are not sure what to do or which way to go (ie- looking for guidance).

I believe that some dreams, especially repeated themes in dreams, can be prophetic in some way. Whatever your dream's true "meaning", I would say that you are lucky to be able to have (& remember) such vivid dreams.

Tornadoes are symbolic of the wrath and fury of God. Your dreams are from the Lord and He is warning you of the destruction to come. In the bible, tornados were symbolic of God's judgement on the disobedient. It does not mean an actual tornado will come, but it can be all kinds of chaos and destruction. Even the volcanoes which you saw represents the Lord's fury which is waiting to erupt and test everyone's works by fire. But the Lord is showing you that you will witness the beginning of it for yourself and you need to prepare your life and get your life right with the Lord.

I don't believe in specific objects meaning specific things in dreams. I mean dreaming of a car is going to mean something to Michael Schumacher, and something else to a person who is nervous about their driving test, you know?
so, it's the *feeling* that the tornado gives you, rather than the tornado itself, I think. so were you calm while the world was ending, or going out your head with terror? were scared while you were hiding, or did you feel trapped, or pretty confident you were safe? whatever you felt, it's where your subconscious is at.

Dreams about tornado's are a fury of emotions you have towards something. Sometimes it means you feel your life is spinning out of control. Examine some aspects of your life and see what is bothering you.
