Losing that much weight that quickly isn't healthy. But I can understand how it can happen, if your throat hurts when you try to swallow.

Try adding yogurt and puddings: Those should be easy on your throat, and provide a bit more of the fat you need. Also, try potato soup and clam chowder, if you like that sort of thing. And try to get your hands on some V-8 for vegetables.

And see a doctor about that throat: It shouldn't be sore like that for so long.

Good luck!

when you have a sore throat you don't want to eat much so you stick to what feels better like soup thus you may loose weight. Problem is if you loose weight too fast it may not stay off. And no loosing weight real fast is never healthy we all need a certain amount of carbs in our bodies to keep or bodies running well as we need those vitamins and nutrients to keep our bodies running efficiently fight off cold germs. If you have a sore throat this long I think you may want to call you doc, you may have strep.

13 pounds in 6 days is dangerous. You are not eating enough food, and you are probably not getting enough vitamins in your diet because of it. If you are athletic, you also might be losing some muscle mass from not doing as much as usual. I think you should take a multi-vitamin until your throat gets better to take care of your body. You also may want to get checked out by a doctor, to make sure you do not have a serious illness. Take care of yourself!!

If you're only eating soups and drinking tea, then you're not really getting all the fats and calories from normal food. Therefore, you will most likely lose some weight.

Don't be disappointed if you gain most of that back when you get better though.
