Hmm... I think she is showing who is in charge, but I would keep a very close eye on them becuase something could happen. Make sure you give them both the same love and attention so that they don't get too jealous. Good luck! Have fun with your new puppy!

You should have waited for two reasons.
1 a pup should not leave it's mother till it's 8 weeks old and may be trying to use your older dog as a substitute mum.
2 a female who has just given birth will not tolerate another dog's offspring near her own and would normally attack it. You don't say whether any other pups survived. If not she'll still be confused and all she will know is that the pup isn't hers!
This behaviour is more than her showing the pup who's in charge and yes she could kill it!
Keep them seperate for now if you aren't there and put the puppy in a crate when you are and let the older dog get used to it's presence. If she shows no aggression then let the puppy out for short periods and praise her if she leaves it alone or remains gentle.
You will need to be very patient and even then she may never accept it as you couldn't have picked a worse time to introduce a new puppy.
Good luck.

It all depends on how well socilised your dog is.How exactly is she attacking this puppy? If she is making the pup really scream out or if you have to intervene to pull her off the pup then she's obviously not happy about the new arrival. You dont say how her 2 pups died and im assuming they died of natural causes, but her hormones will still be pretty up and down.Personally i would have waited to get a new pup as introducing one at this stage is a bit unfair.I would supervise them at all times while they are together and possibly keep your older dog on a lead while the pups with her.She should settle down and accept the new pup within a few weeks, but you have to be very carefull that your new pup doesn't become a nervous wreck.Socilise your pup away from your older dog aswell so it builds its own confidence up and doesn't show the same behaviour as your older dog.Good luck.

Depends on the severity of the attacks, she could be just asserting her alpha status, or she really could view him as an intruder, if that is the case, then you may have a big problem on your hands. I would keep them apart for a while, let her adjust slowly, and keep the pup from her the majority of the time. If she is a mother right now with pups there, then that could be your problem, she is protecting her young from this new dog. Give her a room all her own with her new litter, keep your new dog away from that room and away from her, she is probably attacking because of her pup's. That is a good way to get your new puppy killed if she is protecting her babies.

I have noticed when ever my mom's dog and my brother's dog gets around each other, they attach. Jack Russel Terriors do not like to be around other ones. I would keep a close eye on the pup so that the older dog won't kill it. But I would think a lot about having the same breed together, it's not safe.

Read the answer Willow has given you, it is the only correct one, and is what I would have said, I think you need to return the puppy to it's breeder as it's too young and you have put it's life in danger! Don't think about getting another pup until your bitches hormones have settled down, give her at least 6 months, and if it were me I would probably wait longer.

Oh my! So sorry on your loss, yet according to hazard you are going to be lots extra discriminating in case you ever want to reproduce your canine interior the destiny. that is rather attainable for a mom to by hazard kill her doggies in the event that they're left unsupervised. the owner of the female canine is responsible for the dying of those domestic canines because of the fact she left them with an irresponsible youthful grownup rather of supervising them herself. good breeders will dedicate 8 weeks of their lives to the muddle, will in undemanding terms go away whilst actual mandatory, and could make damn specific there is somebody as the two qualified as they're to shelter those doggies of their absence....that could be a harsh lesson to earnings. you've been there lots merely before the 6th week to envision on the doggies---my mentor is there the day of or the day after one in each and every of her litters is born, and he or she in many cases assists interior the whelping. i could have bodily long gone over to work out them quickly as quickly as they have been whelped---those are YOUR doggies too! Get the government in touch, whether considering that i'm beneficial you haven't any longer have been given any signed settlement between you i'm not sure what they'd do for you---this female is very irresponsible at ultimate! Please know what you're doing until now you're taking this on back!

a 6 week old puppy should not be away from it's mom for another 2 weeks. bring it back. then you need to keep them separate. maybe now is not the time to bring another puppy into the house.
