Obsessed with it, his ex used to have the same kinda dog. He's obsessed with it, buys it treats all the time, will stay in to play with it, spoils it rotten, cannot stop talking about it.

He's a 27 year old man, lives with his mum (and his dog!) does anybody know why people tend to act this way? Is anything psychologically wrong? Any opinion will help my worried self!! Thanks!!

I think there are issues a little more concerning. You indicate an obsession with the dog, does he have similar issues about his mom? A 27 yr old who lives with mom and is obsessed with his dog, is relationship impaired... He needs some counseling... he needs to spread his wings and fly away... Time for him to grow up.

Perhaps he is a dog lover. There's nothing wrong with that! As for him living with his mum, some may say that there is something wrong with him, and there very well may be. However, you need to make that determination for yourself. Maybe he has a very legitimate reason why he is living with his mum, it's not fair of you to judge him just because of that. Back to the dog though, if you have a problem with him talking about his dog, tell him to stop! Simple as that.

Some people have a higher capacity to love than others. When these people get hurt, they tend to find outlets for their feelings.

This young man appears to have connected with his dog as his outlet. It's better than alcohol or drugs, and at least it loves him back, but he may need to widen his social circle to include, say, dog owners at the dog park and maybe even then a new girlfriend.

Lots of people live with their parents in today's society. Unless he has a strange relationship with his mom, I wouldn't pay that too much attention.

Well unless your willing to move in with his mom and love his dog the same way he does, you will be 3rd in his life when he has time.Take it or leave it.He sounds like he is a few fries short of a happy meal or he has never learned to be a man or has a pot problem.

its probably just because he hasn't found anyone to project that attention to yet, so he uses it on his dog.

its a good reflection of what type of bf he would be.
