Can you wear contact lenses in basic?

no you cannot wear contacts at all in basic traing. the BCG glasses are ugly i know. they actually serve a purpose in being so big thick and bulky. they protect your eyes while you are in basic traing from dirt rocks and anything else that can potentially harm your eyes while in basic training .contacts can be a pain everytime you get the smallest speck of dirt in them it hurts and you will have to take them out and clean them and stuff. the military isnt going to give you time to stop and clean a contact or look for a lost contact while in training. after you graduate you can go back to wearing contact lenses.

Ironically enough my husband is probably the only person in the world that actually broke his BCGs. :) They are thick, brown and ugly, but they are not shatterproof. You wouldn't have enough time to take your contacts in and out or to take care of them. They don't want trainees to get eye infections and uniformity is a big thing at basic so that is why you get issued the BCGs.

no contact lenses are not aloud in the military they won't even alllow you to wear your own glasses they provide you with glasses which are called BCG's rumor is bcg's stands for birth control glasses it keeps the boys from looking at the girl's and vice versa. The BCG's are so ugly there kind of like bottle cap glasses

that's a no-go. and besides, u wouldn't have any time to even think about putting them in. and it could cause a nasty infection with all the training you will be doing. they issue you "BCG's" (birth control glasses....named that because they are so ugly, with big frames)

you will wear what are called B.C.Gs Birth Control Goggles The thick brown rimmed glasses, you dont have time to mess with contacts and they melt in the gas chamber

You will be issued birth control glass's
If you don't have glass's, you can wear your contacts to basic, but bring a lend holder to put them in.

nope. you will be issued an extremely ugly pair of shatterproof glasses to wear instead.
