Assuming you're not in love with this person. You're not friends either.

Absolutely NOT! It is BETTER to be honest from the start and hurt their feelings than to LIE to them and MISLEAD them into thinking you like them romantically or there's a chance that you will be romantically interested in them. To lead them on is stupid and MORE hurtful in the long run. Tell them " Look, I just do not feel the same way towards you and I will never be romantically interested in you, I'm sorry, it doesn't mean your bad or unattractive, you just do not appeal to me that way".

I did for my first 'official' date. he was sweet and seemed nice.

worst decision I've ever made. when you say 'yes', then the person thinks you're interested. if you're not, then don't agree on going on the date. giving a person a chance is nice and all, but it's YOUR life- not theirs.

it's kinda playing with their feelings. in the end, you can come out liking the person or feeling terrible about it (like I did)

I personally wouldn't do that because I know how it feels to think everything is going good and then everything turns upside down...

I also know from some girls that I hang out with do the whole not hurt someone's feelings thing what happens afterwards...the guy will be thinking that everything is good and continues to move forward while you trying to back out of it and it just ends in unnecessary drama.

Make sense?

I would say yes, just in case I had misjudged the situation and wanted to make sure my first impression wasn't wrong. Many times I meet someone and am not sure if we can be friends based on a first glance. Most people who really like me have to take time to know me.

I would say no. I would hate to hurt their feelings, but I'd rather lay out the cards right away than rather say yes then make him believe I'm interested.

If you only go out on dates with people you think you are "in love with" as you put it.. you are missing out on maybe what could be wonderful relationships.. whether they turn into more only time will tell...but friends at the very least..
Go out, enjoy life.. try it.. who knows where the road shall lead.

Say yes!!! I asked a guy to our end-of-the-year dance and he rejected me, like a gentleman of course, and I cried for days. Don't let that guy feel like I did. Go on one date, it'll make his day, and tell him you don't want a boyfriend right now. If a guy said something like this to me, I'd understand.

Haha, no. Because it'll hurt them worse when they find out that I don't like them later on.
