In Ireland, Mag Mell (plain of joy) was a mythical realm achievable through death and glory. Not a dark underworld, but a pleasurable paradise. It was visited by many heroes and monks. This other-world was a place where sickness and death did not exist, a place of eternal youth and beauty. Music, vitality, life and all manner of pleasurable pursuits with no want for food or drink.
Or, is it an eternally blessed Garden of Eden, in which humanity is reunited with God in a perfect and natural state of eternal existence?
Maybe it is as Samsara is described, Swarga loka, a transitory place for souls who did good deeds but whose actions are not enough for union.
Or, is it the highest level, Firdaws, where the prophets, the martyrs and the most truthful and pious people will dwell.
Then, it could be Odin’s Valhalla, the Hall of the Slain, located in Gladsheim. The home for those slain gloriously in battle who are welcomed by Bragi and escorted to Valhalla by the Valkyries.
Or is it just Nirvana? The highest happiness. They all sound good to me.

Name one thing that is not real. Everything is real. The question is, a real what? Heaven is a real myth as you outlined it in the details. How many people would be willing to defend a literal Odin these days? Thor and his hammer were once prayed to with the earnestness of all petitioners of the divine. My heart cries out for the good and to have it forever, but when I am hungry no tables appear laden with fruits and meats; no feast appears that will satisfy my appetite.

Heaven is real. It is here on earth. Don't waste your life waiting to get there someday. You can make it happen now. But it is not easy and passive. It is difficult and active. And it is not about indulging yourself, but about serving others so that you forget yourself. When that truly happens, all pain, anger, resentment, and pettiness melt away. Heaven.

of woIn the east ,heaven is also known as devachon and is for a time a place where we all go while we wait for our next incarnation in this world.Heaven is what ever you want it to be as it must be suited to meet the needs of all humanity.The most depraved spend untold eons in the hell of their own making until their own karma allows a further incarnation.
