Gomanyes is completely wrong. The insurance company cares. They'd don't care about getting new customers, they care about getting GOOD insurance risks.

Since it was just last year, the insurance company is going to charge you an increased premium. Most companies go back 3-5 years and check for any tickets/violations/accidents.

Some companies will be more tolerant than others. Be sure you get quotes from several companies, including a local independant (represents several companies) agent.

They shouldn't have a problem with it. After all, they are getting a new customer. It's the DMV that may have a problem, not the insurance company.

You can get it, but when they quote the rate, you'd better be sitting down.
