I Delight in the small things. The shape of moss on trees, the color of rocks, seeing other's curiousity, learning possibilities that speak to my own curiousity.

The thing that came to mind as I read your question is my motorcycle.

I love them. I always have. Growing up where I did, I yearned for someone to come and take me away on one. (Silly girl, it didn't occur to me until much later in life that I could have my own).

I promised myself that if I ever got the sport bike (crotch rocket, rice burner, what have you) that I always wanted, my license plate would read "Joy."

I think the word joy is almost onomatopoeic. And it exactly describes the feeling I get when I become one with the machine and grow wings. Ok, really just wheels, but it's kind of like flying....

Well, I got it and it does!

the joy of the Lord is my strength." the Scriptures

yet my Jewish Bubi from Boston (grandma) she showed me that only the Messiah Yeshua/Jesus could get me true joy that lasts and overflows because he is the Lord="Jesus saith, I am the way the truth and the life, no one cometh unto heaven but by me." John 14:6

As a Jew I was born to believe that God lied and that I could be good enough to get to heaven without a blood atonement to forgive my sins.

Moses said "Without the innocent shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins." "The life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it upon the altar to make atonement for your sins." Leviticus 17:11

where is your forgiveness of sins?? can you be better than Jesus and earn your salvation. If you die and only told one lie-can you forgive your own lie-can your religion-Jesus says no=

"Except you repent, and be born again you can not see the kingdom of heaven." John 3

the words of Jesus from heaven Revelation 1:1&3:19&20 "I love you and ask you to repent quickly, Behold I stand at your heart door and knock, if you hear my word and ask me in, I will come in forgive your sins and be your friend."

Jesus is my righteousness my blood atonement for sins, My Messiah and best friend, prayin for you too to have true joy and inner shalom/peace too, David

Many fine honest answers here...wonderful to see many finding a place for joy and seeking as well as finding it from within their Faith and Lord...really wonderful....

Myself, I find this a joy as I derive my joy and happiness from other's happiness, if others are happy then this makes me happy...if they are unhappy then I try to provide it...

Peace from a Buddhist....
