It fits their herd mentality to try to fit everyone into neat litle boxes. The diversity of their god's vast creation is too mind-numbing to them, otherwise.

While you can be an individual so can a Christian. You have just lumped all of of any religion under religious. It is a way of referring to a group whether affiliated or not. The English language is set up like that so maybe you should question an English teacher.
On this particular site the atheists are a group that converse among themselves and even make strategies and talking points to attack most notably Christians. You see they are not so much against religion as they are anti-Christian.

Put all people in a group and you can stereotype them
Judge them as individuals and you have to accept individual worth.
This has been the key to ending every form of oppression in history.

Same goes for the atheists viewing people with beliefs as being all the same. The sword cuts both ways.

lables is really spelled labels. There are atheists who will also categorize Christians as a group. Both are wrong and it is called stereotyping.
It is one of the biggest wastes of time and verbage in YA.

God is REAL! Jesus is REAL! THE Holy Ghost is REAL!
And you are in a group that keeps saying NO GOD! Well Fine!
You'll find out someday, And when you do I pray that you will see the Love, the Grace and the Mercy of God and ask Jesus into your Life, to be your daily Guide to a truly better Life.

Atheists are individuals, and members of a group.
singular - atheist
plural - atheists
As unique as we are, there will always be other people with whom we have something in common, and the lack of belief in deities is a pretty big thing to have in common with other people.
