My best friend and i are babysitting a 8 year old, 6 year old, 2 year old, and 1 year old until next thursday and we don't know what to do for the 6 year old!! She started feeling sick last night and didnt sleep very well until i layed in bed with her and rubbed her stomach...at about 4 in the morning i heard her crying and found her covered in puke!! I quickly cleaned her up and took her downstairs to lay on the couch with a bucket. She is still throwing up and has a temperature of 102 degrees!! What else should i do for her because she is constantly crying unless im rubbing her back or something but i still have to watch 3 other kids and one also claims that they have a tummy ache now!!

well you need to first off call the parents and ask them for the insurence information and then call 9-1-1 because i assume neither one of you have a car. you or your friend should stay with the three other kids and one should go to the ER with her. because since her temp is 102, at that point cells in the body start to die, since your so young i dont expect you to know how important that is... call 9-1-1.

Okay, where are the adults? No parent should leave their young children with another child for a week. I'm sure that you're more than capable of handling them but it's not right for when things like this come up. I won't leave my 14 year old nephew who is capable of staying on his own over night with small kids much less a week.

Wipe her down with a cool (NOT COLD) wash cloth, give her plenty of juices, water but no milk, give her some children's tylenol and just a little extra attention. Your bff should be able to watch the others while you're with the sick one or the other way around. As for the little one who has the stomach ache she probably just needs a little attention.

First of all call the children's parents, then call yours, then you may need to call the children's doctor. It may be nothing serious, but it's always better to be safe than sorry. The doctor may tell you not to give her ginger ale because she is so young. He/She may want you to give him/her something like pedialyte. A luke warm bath usually makes sick kids feel more comfortable if only a little. Keep the two that are sick apart from the others. Good luck and stay calm you'll do just fine.

You should probably call the parents, but you're doing great so far. Watch the temp (it should break soon, but don't let it go much higher). Don't feed her much (maybe some crackers or semi-flat ginger ale or coke, but not a lot. think bland. Don't give the others junk food or it may make it worse. Sounds like stomach flu, but could be something else... you never know... You are a brave 14 yr old and doing GREAT!

you need to call either their parents or your parents- whoever you can reach first. keep the sick kid away from the other kids as best as you can. give the sick kid children's tylenol ONLY IF HER PARENTS SAY IT'S OK. give her chicken noodle soup if you can, but basically get ahold of an adult ASAP! good luck honey- don't listen to the 1st post- brain cells DO NOT die at 102 degree fever. the human brain can handle a temperature up to 106 however in children we don't want the fever to go higher than 104 unless they have a history of seizures.

You shouldn't be in charge of kids that age for a week at your age. You must have the parents' emergency contact number, I assume? Call them, right away.

stories, board games, and separate the child who is sick so the other kids wouldnt get sick and give the sick child some nyqul it should make them feel better and other things for you and your friend to do with the kids are like take them to a park or to a zoo but be careful kids tends to wander off and take the sick child to a hospital right away before they get worse.

Call her parents asap. Then get your own parents involved. It could be just the stomache flu or something more serious. You need adult intervention on this one.
