It will be very hard to make abs just "appear" in a week. Abs like any other muscle group will take time to develop through training and exercise.

Once you have a nice set of firm abs, you won't even be able to see them unless your body fat levels are low enough. You could have a six pack right now buried under fat.

Focus on core exercises 2-3 weeks and work on your DIET to reduce body fat levels. After a course of a few months if you are really dedicated your abs will start to appear.

Washboard abs require tremendous focus and exercise, since we use our abs all the time, they need to be shocked into growth. Diet is key to exposing the art underneath, one goes with the other.

from your name you shouldnt need to worry but i do sit ups and crunches. i also do several of the things is saw in a movie called "3 minute abs" on youtube.
