I often call myself an athiest, but truly I am agnostic... it's just easier to say athiest because I fall under the "Godless" banner. One of the ideas that makes me an agnostic rather than athiest comes from Saint Thomas Aquinas. I have to agree with the first three of his proofs (see: Quinquae viae)... there must be an "unmoved mover" and a "first cause"... also the idea of "contingency" makes sense to me. So I accept that there is something out there beyond my comprehension... I do not think that thing is a personal God (as the 4th and 5th proof try to assert). So yes there is something out there. I don't know what it is, but I seriously doubt it's the personal God as written in the Bible. I don't believe that knowing what that God is has any relevance to my life, so I'll just keep living blissfully happy... and Godless.

As far as deities go I have no problem that people want to believe in them I just don't want them strong-arming me to. As far as atheism goes, there is a lot I agree with but I'll not be bullied into becoming one either (ie: the fence sitter, fence walker.. BS). My stance is just as valid as the atheists and that is bit close-minded on some of their parts calling me an atheist in disguise.
