Sometimes I can't decide what to do, even over small things, and I'm not sure if it's because I really already know what I want to do but I'm afraid to do it, OR if it's because I'm too tired or something and I don't want to do either thing....any thoughts?

Usually people who have a constant problem with procrastination have been either not allowed to make decisions for themselves as children or were chastised for their mistakes.

Ask yourself some questions, being totally honest; how was I treated as a child? Was I encouraged or discouraged from making my own decisions? When I made an honest mistake, was I chastised or encouraged to do better next time?

Now, it's time to change old tapes and tell yourself you can make good decisions. How? By doing some research on your own, making wise choices in life shows maturity. Look at the short term and long term consequences on both yourself and others it may affect. Weigh all your available choices, make a list and cross off the most obvious bad choices and focus on the best ones, then set about to investigate those.

Next, have faith and step out with the best choice, if if looks not so good once you've given it a chance, go to plan "B", your second good choice. No matter what, tell yourself you did the best you could with what you had and move on, we all learn by mistakes, it's called life! : )

The key word in your question is "sometimes I can't decide". If that statement is correct your not alone. It happens to all of us sometimes. If, however, it happens more often than not; and it gets in the way of your life, you are dealing with something more serious. What comes to my mind is a dependent personality.

You're probably a perfectionist and are afraid to make a mistake. I procrastinate for the same reason, if i wait long enought, the right answer or decision will present itself. Not a bad way to live...dontcha think? wink...so don't beat yourself up.
