I'm alluding to some "bad habits". If the bottle says: "may be habit-forming", I want more. I don't believe in group therapy or in addicts getting together to help each other quit. I've been down that road for several years. What's the best way for me to change my mind-set?

YOU are to work in a 12 step, not the 12 step working for you. Big difference. Time to become a mature adult and take responsibility for your actions. Get professional help, if you don't like groups, contact a clinic that specializes in rehabilitation.

Remember, it's YOU that holds the key to your success. Do you WANT to be clean and sober and have a life? If yes, then YOU make that change. Good luck.

You might have an addictive personality. I also have an addictive personality, I find it best to remove all forms of temptation, and replace the desire with something else. Like you feel like you really want to take the pills, do something until that temporary desire goes away, like rigorous exercise.

You are the only one who can stop you from doing the pills. If you really don't want to do them then you won't, you will be a strong person and be in-control of yourself and just say no! It takes a stronger person to say no then to take a whole bunch and survive taking them.......Be stronger than anyone thinks you can be and say no! I did it with alcohol and with drugs on my own no groups no counseling for it, just reached the point where it was killing me and I had to so I did it! You can to, it is your choice. But you have to want to stop!

frankly this sounds harsh, but it is from personal experience - i tried 12 steps, but got turned off by people always introducing themselves by there 'addiction' even if they had not touched it in YEARS.

my advice is to just be a MAN and do it!

Peace+

A 12-Step program isn't for those who need it but for those who want it.
