I love art and I'm assuming your are talking about this sort of purchase based on the category.

My all-time favorite painting is called At The Beach by well-known impressionist Candace Whittemore Lovely. She gave it to me after I did all of her publicity and graphics for her first retrospective at The Copley Society of Boston. At the time it as valued at more than $35,000. Today her paintings of women at the beach sell for upwards of $125,000.

The most I ever paid for a sculpture was $700 by Liam Butler who shows in The Kenny Gallery in Galway. It is a very heavy "Raven" made from scrap copper. This was the days before Homeland Security and I actually hand-carried it wrapped in kraft paper with a twine handle. This piece is also worth considerably more now.

My basic rule is to trust your own eye and gut when you are buying a piece of art. If your instincts are in harmony with your checkbook, buy the piece!

My iPod was pretty expensive, but I would have to say that the most expensive item I have ever bought would have to be art supplies.

You see, I am a artist myself, and I spend a lot of time painting and/or drawing. So I think that the cost of paint and the best pencils on the shelf would have to be pretty expensive. I paint a lot and, like I said, I also draw a lot and do other little arts and crafts in my spare time as well. So I am pretty tied up most of the time. When I buy things, I try not tot buy the most expensive thing out there, but I do think that youget what you pay for when you buy art supplies. And therefore I would have to say that the most expensive thing I have ever bought would have to be art supplies. But it is hard to say because my iPod was pretty expensive as wel, so I do not have a correct answer to your question.

Hope I gave you a efficient answer

I had a giant turtle once! He only had three legs. I bought him a wheelchair for turtles but it wouldn't fit around his shell. It was very expensive! I had to have it fitted professionally by a turtle wheelchair fitter. A few paper clips and rubber bands later, my turtle was able to race in the turtle olympics, which he won by the way.
