We LOVE IT!!! My children have learned MORE then if they were in the Public system because they can ask questions and get REAL answers. Public School is 8 1/2 - 9 months long spotted with breaks and lasting from 7 AM-3PM. Life is not like that and neither is learning, it's 24/7.
We can be ANYWHERE and do a lesson...what can be better then that??

I LOVE IT, Because I'm a Christian I'm allowed to actually talk about him and pray freely, also I get to socialize because I go to the Home School Building in Wyoming, MI. I love that place I have made so many friends. I can take just as many classes as public schools can, I take Drama, Choir, Color Guard, And there are others that you can take. But I don't. You can also buy books there and they have a library there. So I like it.
Hope this helped you know what I think.

I home school, so I am definitely an advocate. I don't have a problem with people approaching me and asking questions as long as they don't make assumptions about how my children are "socialized." If people would take the time to do research, they would see many studied have been done in that and the academic are of home schooling and over all we come out just fine! My children are taught manners and respect to a variety of people young and old, and to different ethnic backgrounds. Compare that to a classroom where all the kids are the same age and expected to follow a curriculum that may not fit all their diverse learning styles.
added: to the answerer above me, I could only wish my kids lives were not quite so full socially. They have TONS of friends and are very busy with several activities such as swim team, dance, Youth Group at our church, Civil Air Patrol, volunteering, our co-op, etc. Like I said, don't say something unless you know what you are talking about.

Well I really don't know how it would feel to be homeschooled. But, I do have some cousins in Georgia that are homeschooled. They say it is easier to learn, and they can take breaks when they are tired. So I guess that it probably is fun, and you might even learn more.

I home school my boys it is wonderful for all of us we incorporate life into the schooling we love history so we started doing living history reenacting. The best thing is you can work at the kids pace if there getting it you move on if there not you slow down in public the have too many kids so the ones that don't get it get left behind.

I have seen some very awesome students came from home schooling.
I have seen students who nothing, ran the streets, caused major problems, etc.
Each person needs to look it themselves, first. It appears one needs: Self Starter. Super Organized, Background to know how to run it, Discipline set in stone. etc.

I love it!!!! I love the freedom and responsibility of being in charge of my own education. I just start unschooling this year, and it's the best thing that ever happened to me. I really feel like I'm learning. For example, I love random facts, and now I have more time to learn what i want to, in half the time.

i was home schooled for a little while and i hated it i thought it ruined my education , my relationship with my friends and i didnt really get anything from it take it from a home schooled child keep them in a private school or public school maybe you could get them a tutor if that school isnt cutting it but if you are going to still do home school them make sure they stay active in the community i know if your child is home schooled the public schools have to include you in their extra curricular activities like football or a committee i would recomend that so they dont miss out on their childhood also if you are going to do this they might miss out on some of their credits they need like gym and art i know when i tried to switch school i had to many credits to make up so i had to go to an alternative school to get them back
