Many Christians in India in church services, church apointments and architecture adapt some Hindu customs and worship or meditation practices such as use of waving lamps, throwing flower petals, garland wreaths, clarified butter(ghee), pulling back curtains(darshan),lustral water, modes of chanting and singing ,use of traditional Hindu colors and use of Hindu terms to describe Christian concepts. Painting Christian scenes and themes in Hindu styles or the use of traditional gestures and postures( Christ as Nataraja) happens in India.
Idol worship is incompatible with Christianity,Judaism ,Islam or Sikhism. In Christianity there is only one incarnation of God and in the others there is really none at all. The full concept of "murti"or the actual,if temporary, presence of the divine in the statue of a god is not Christian and is very different from the Christian practice of icon-veneration.However,honoring religious images has a traditional ,long ,church-approved and biblically-defensible history in Christianity.

I'm Christian and I'm well aware of those Christians who feel that Christianity is the only way, but I am pretty open minded about other beliefs except Atheism.. I just feel its important to believe in something greater than yourself, wether you pray to one God like I do or pray to multiple Gods like Hindus do... I don't care even if someone prays to a flying pig, as long as you are faithful thats all that counts.

I know very little about the Hindu religion, but what I do know about it, I disagree with their entire belief system, except for the non-violent part, Non-violence is a good thing!

Well, all I know is that Jesus Himself said in the book of John, that "I am the way, thre truth, and the life. NO ONE comes to the father but by me."

In Latin that's called Solus Christus-- salvation thru Christ alone.

Do with that what you will.....

Well, obviously we don´t believe in it, but I myself don´t mind because I know there are different parts of the world and different religions and cultures. Its kinda interesting to watch movies about it and learn about it, but I wouldn´t ever try it.
