If supernatural higher forces exist Atheists will not believe it without proof. You have to come up with substantial proof that they exist. For example if someone wants an atheist to believe in Angels, Ghost , Genie (Jinn), Santa Claus with flying sledge he or she has to come up with scientific evidence that is verifiable.
Meditation is relaxation of the mind. Most atheist do not meditate I think. There is no such statistics.

I meditate, yes. Do I believe in "super natural higher forces"? No. Natural forces that we haven't discovered or explored yet? Maybe, the jury's still out on that one.
Tango/Bravo: Eh? Now atheists don't have empathy either? Wow, we lose more human qualities every time I check R&S. How long will it take before we're a separate species?

Atheists can't be put in one catagory. Yes, many Atheists believe in higher forces and many do meditate. Take Buddhism, majority of Buddhist are Atheists.
Just so you know. Atheism is just a singular concept, the lack of belief of their being an existing God.

I don't see the connection between the two.
I don't currently meditate, though I have in the past, and probably will in the future.
I do not believe in anything "supernatural".
The term "higher forces" is far too vague to talk about. Many believers assume that atheists believe that they are the "highest" kind of thing in the universe. Frankly, I have no idea where believers get that notion. Atheism is most certainly NOT about claiming to be the "highest power". I believe that the forces of nature, taken collectively, have far more power to shape the course of the universe than I could ever hope to have.
Thank you for asking these questions without including any gratuitous "digs" against atheism (unlike "Tango/Bravo" below, who insisted on being a lying ***).

I sometimes meditate, but there is nothing supernatural about it. It's simply emptying your mind as much as you are able and listening within. As to higher forces, I'm with Einstein on this subject. He said: "A knowledge of the existence of something we cannot penetrate, of the manifestations of the profoundest reason and the most radiant beauty - it is this knowledge and this emotion that constitute the truly religious attitude; in this sense, and in this alone, I am a deeply religious man. (Albert Einstein)
I do not believe in a personal God and I have never denied this but have expressed it clearly. If something is in me which can be called religious then it is the unbounded admiration for the structure of the world so far as our science can reveal it. (Albert Einstein, 1954)
I believe in Spinoza's God who reveals himself in the orderly harmony of what exists, not in a God who concerns himself with the fates and actions of human beings. (Albert Einstein)

I am an atheist, and I do meditate. No, I do not believe in any supernatural forces.
I meditate to focus my thoughts, to explore possible consequences of actions, play out scenarios. It helps me to decide on weighty issues.

I am an atheist, I do not believe in anything supernatural, but meditation is mainly a mental technique. I don't do it personally but I see nothing supernatural in it.

i dont meditate. i dont exactly believe in a supernatural higher foce, but there is a possibility. if there is one, it is certainly not the biblical god. if there was a god, that god would be indifferent. that god would not care for the suck ups.
