Not if there is any fairness in the world.
The US military is NOT committing war crimes. It instructs and instills in its soldiers to NOT commit atrocities. It court martials any that does.
War itself is not a crime. Whether or not WMD was found (we did find the mobile labs) doesn't have any bearing on war crimes. Whether or not Iraq had attacked it's neighbors has no bearing on war crimes. ditto 9/11.
But Iraq did attack Kuwait in 1990 and Iraq did attack Iran in 1980, just to refute your peace loving nation argument.
Moreover, Saddam attacked the Kurds in the north with chemical weapons and the Shi'a in the south. His sons directly oversaw torture, committed rape and executions. Saddam himself executed people for no other reason than the gaining of political power. His military was shooting at US aircraft from 1991 through 2003.
Once again, none of this has anything to do with whether or not a case can be made against US soldiers for war crimes. Fortunately, it is rare that an American soldier can be accused of them.

I too am a soldier. I have spent the past 4 years of my life fighting this war and defending my country. When I see the crap that these antiwar people say and do it makes me ill. I sometimes find myself wondering if it is really worth it to put my life on the line to defend a nation that is capable of such things. Then I think of all of the good people, all of the accomplishments we have made and all of the progress I see everyday and remind myself that I am not just fighting for individuals, I am fighting for the idea that a every person is born with certain unalienable rights, and among them are the rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I volunteered to join the military, no one forced me and I am still proud to this day to call myself a soldier. But what I don't comprehend is how people who have never picked up an M16 and taken aim at the very people who want to destroy all that we hold dear can actually think that we can simply withdraw. The very thought of it is stupefying. If we leave they will come after us, if we lose they will kill more Americans. Terrorism is such a huge problem in today’s world because terrorists do not hold allegiance to one country. This is not an Allies vs. the Axis type fight anymore. We can not wage war in the manner that we have all learned about in history class. There is no front line because there is no territory to gain or lose. There is no "Eagle's Nest". Terrorists are protected by the fact that they often blend into a population. Driving down the street of Baghdad you can not tell Iraqi from Insurgent. Yet, here in Iraq, we have an opportunity we could only pray for in the past. Terrorists have chosen that front line and come to fight on it daily. Do we back off now and give them comfort and victory. Do we give up the fight? I believe that this will only put us back. If we withdraw now we give up that front line. We give up this advantage. Then we go back to wondering where they are and what they are plotting. Then we go back to waking up in the morning and hearing those awful words resonating from our television "An airliner crashed into the World Trade Center today....." The bottom line is that we chose to defend our country, and we take that choice seriously. None of want to die for our country, but we are willing to do so because we understand the cost of freedom. It's our job to fight for you. So let us.

What are they going to be tried for? Removing a ruthless dictator? I laugh because basically the same thing happened in Bosnia and Kosovo, when we got rid of Milosevic but no Ultra Libs want to try the troops for war crimes from that conflict.
Everyone knows how wrong you are about Iraq never attacking another country. I'll give you some facts. Saddam’s invasion of Iran led to the deaths of 150,000 to 340,000 Iraqis and 450,000 to 730,000 Iranians. In 1988 a Chemical attack on the Kurdish village of Halabja killed approximately 5,000 people. After the Gulf war in 1991 he killed 30,000 to 60,000 Shia and Kurds in putting down their rebellion.
Oh yeah, and plus the Iraqi government has asked for the US military to stay to try and stabilize the country.
So again I ask, "What are the returning soldiers going to be charged with?"

there is a clause in the military handbook that will prevent most everyone from being tried on the soldier level. they were just following orders so the officers are the ones who would be tried. they will have to determine on a case by case basis if there is enough evidence to prove that an officer was following orders or if he should have morally and ethically refused the order and contacted another superior officer. the fact that the war has changed so much there is going to be several years of clerical work necessary before this will be resolved. the administration will have a large problem with this, because of the way this war was handled. there will probably be several high end officials who will get burnt for this but as far as a soldier by soldier court marshal you shouldn;t have anything to worry about.

"that even to this day Iraq has never attacked another country".......
excuse me genius..ever heard of :
Israel?
Iran?
Kuwait?
***************************************************
Here is what..that the invasion of Iraq had to do with
9-11..or WMD rhetoric...nadda
here we go again..
Saddam was bombed in the spring of 1998..Operation Desert Fox..which liberals claim put an end to the nuclear threat Saddam was working on..
In October that year Bill Clinton expressed concerns over
Saddam's threat to the rest of the region with his nuke ambitions
It wasn't until after the invasion in 1992 that the Kay report suggested that Desert Fox was the eliminating factor..based on interviews with Saddam's Scientists
which makes the demagoguery of 9-11..WMDs...nothing but the ridiculous rants of a power hungry mean spirited group of fools..in relation to the liberation of the people of Iraq from the daily tyranny Saddam was inflicting

There have been over 500 WMD's found since 2003. What about the sarin and mustard gas. Saddam used them on his own people. So therefore, no they won't be tried. Don't forget about Kuwait and that Saddam violated 17 UN resolutions. Since Saddam killed only his own people, I guess it was none of our business or anyone else outside of Iraq to get involved.

Please, stop asking stupid questions. If you want to find a reason to hate your president, go ahead. You can find a reason to hate anything or anyone, including me. No one is stopping you from hating. If you want to get your history wrong, apparently no one is stopping you either.
US Soldiers tried for war crimes....you are absurd.
There, you have a reason to hate me, I called you a name......
