it is very important that your dog is properly brought up and is obedient..

a pup can learn by playing what he may and he may not do. rewards and consistency are important tools in raising a dog. reward it with your voice, a stroke or something tasty and it will quickly learn to obey.

a dog that won't obey you is not just a problem for you, but also for your surroundings. it's therefore important to avoid unwanted behavior. in fact, this is what training your dog is all about, so get started early... an untrained dog is not just a nuisance, but also cause dangerous situations, running into the road, chasing joggers or jumping at people. a dog must be trained out of its undesirable behavior as quickly as possible. the longer you let go on, the more difficult it will become to correct it. the best thing to do is to attend a special obedience course. this won't only to correct your dog's behavior, but its owner also learns how to handle undesirable behavior at home. a dog must not only obey its boss during training, but anywhere and anytime.

Hey, don't worry, my dog is three and she's still hyper :P The best thing to do, I think, is get something your dog likes, like a treat. Hold it in front of him, say "sit" in a comanding voiice, but not harshly like he is in trouble. Then gently push his back down until he is in a sitting position. Take your hand away and if he stays sitting, give him the treat, as well as lots of praise. Never get mad at him if he doesn't do it, this will make it feel like training is a negative thing, and you don;t want this because you will never be able to train him. So, if he stands up right away after, say sit again and push him down, until he gets the idea of what you want him to do. Eventually you will be able to say sit without having to touch him, and this will be what you are aiming for. Make sure you don't use treats a lot though, as this will get him in the habit of wanting one every time, which isn't good. You want him to be able to sit when you ask, even if you have nothing. The best thing to use is positive reinforcement. As for rolling over, you will have to teach the basic comands first, like lay down and stay. My dog has never learned this, mostly because he doesn't like to roll over. I don't think I tried to teach him at a young enough age, that's why. He's probably just not into trying new things. Each dog is different, so it's up to you to discover what yours is comfortable with :) Anyway, have fun, and good luck with training!

Puppies need a lot of exercise and some consistent discipline. Take him for a long walk twice a day. When he's a bit tired, you can try simple commands, but their attention span is very short when they're young. Rolling over can come later. (You wouldn't teach an infant to jump rope, would you? :-)) Start small, reinforce good behavior, and praise him when he does something right. If he tries to bit you, say, "No!" I used to put my thumb under my dog's tongue each time he tried to bite me and he quickly got the message. Get a good book on dog training (like Cesar Milan's). Good luck!

How old is? And has he been altered? Fixed I mean. That is part of the hiper if he has not been altered. He is a puppy so they like to play. I have had daogs all my life. My last dog was not altered and he was hiper and rowdy even at 7 yrs old when he died. Just be patient and get him fixed if he is not. If he is not fixed and male later in life he will have problems if you know what I mean.

take him to a class. THeir big deal is that they really don't train puppies so much as they train people to train puppies. For now focuc on training your puppy to walk on a leash. that'll keep him well exercised, and give you a good start. If you really want to do the other stuff, the best rule to learn is that if you can steer the dog's head the body will follow. So, to get him to sit, tempt him with a treat, and raise it just over his head. as his head comes up his butt wiill go down...and SIT...then move the treat down and away a bit...head follows...and you have down....then toward the shoulder and over...and you get him to roll...experimant a bit and see how that works...but really...try a class...it's WAY easier if someone shows you.

I've had many dogs. You have to be sereous with them or they wont be with you. A good fight is not the way... it helps to punish but stil it is a soul like any other and it feals pain to. The ather way is with treat ;) give the dog a treat any time it do sommething you wont, and speak to it with a sereous tone when it do sommething bad. It is not a probleme to say words to the dog. It is strange when you speak to it like a human, but dogs can remember words after meny reapitings. For an example:
If you wont to make your dog to sit when you whont try dis way -
You push yor dog on the back and at the same time you say "sit!" try dis few times after few hours or days it will remember to sit any time you say "sit!" Any time it do dis thing right you give it a treat.
If it makes in your room a big mess start to punish it. First you are grabing it at the neck but not very strong (dis is the way the mother caryes the dog) and you put his face in the mess and start sayng fings like - Hwo did dis?! den you put it somewhere locked for few minutes... half an hower loud do... After some time it will antherstand whot is going on ;) Dont be scared frome the games the dog play dis is the cutest part. But dont let it bite you a lot... It must know hwo is the boss!
The most emportant is to show it hwo is the boss, be sereous with it just like an enfant ;)

It seems like that's just the way the puppy is. It's like if a person was hyper, its very hard to change it's personality. What you can try to do is go to the park or somewhere and play with him, making him run around a lot. Take him on a jog and get him tired. This will probable calm him down and while playing you can try and teach him how to sit.

Take him to an obedience class. The training will go much faster with an experienced teacher, than if you are a first-time puppy owner trying to do it alone.

How old is he? Don't try to teach him tricks till you taught him "no" and housetrained. An eight week old is too young to learn tricks. When he gets older you can teach him you will only play with him if he does what you say
