Does anybody have any idea what this might be? It's a red structure I found in a house that was being contracted. It's seemingly "disguised" as an electrical outlet. I also noticed that when you step on a particular floorboard in the house, at the bottom of the stairs in the house (which is also in front of the door to the room where the "outlet" is in), you can hear a click, and a little light inside the outlet goes on. The same floorboards goes all the way into the room too (leading straight to the "outlet."
The whole setup kinda makes me think it's for security, but I just don't get it. The family that lived there has died, so they can't be asked.

The R and T may stand for Receiver/transmitter. The Receiver/transmitter can be used to control lighting in the stairs or the upper floor (for example, when you go down to make sure all lights up are turned off)

The device may also serve as a "night" light.

Probably a generator or something like that.
That's sad about the family :(
