This questions is for the ladies. I have been thinking about waxing my legs for the last little while, there is quite a bit of hair on my legs and i want to get a good tan. Personally i hate leg hair and would like to get rid of it. What is your opinions?
I wouldnt shave, that just causes more to gro back. However waxing alows the hair to grow back thinner each time.

I am not interested in going bare all the time, however i would like to thin the hair so its not as much. That with a good tan sounds hotter then being hairy like alot of guys are.

Waxing the legs for a male is a little... different, but let's not forget that there are two groups of men who often shave/wax everything (nearly) and those are swimmers and body builders so it's not that uncommon. Do what makes you happy :)
As for waxing... I'm told the hot wax is the best though I've never tried it myself. I have used cold wax strips and found them to be not as effective as promised. It often leaves some hair behind. I'm one of those "lucky" people that still grows hair back within a day or two of waxing so it's lost on me. Hot wax is more of a pain to get ready and use but should (as I'm told) do better at getting all the hair.
As for shaving making MORE grow back- I don't know if that's true. I've heard it, but have never seen it for myself. Also, I'm still waiting for that hair to come back thinner from waxing. ;)
What about epilators? Same idea as wax without the mess. Expect it to hurt either way. Ripping hair out is never painless.
If you know you want it gone for good look into laser treatments. I priced them out locally and it was $1800 for treatment plus touchups for the legs (but I think that was knees down). It's not cheap, but in the long run worth it. I would recommend trying the waxing/shaving first to make sure you like it.
Good luck!

Try shaving for a few times first, to make sure you like the look and feel of being smooth. Shaving does not make it grow back any thicker or heavier, you are just more aware of the hair. Besides, it will be easier to wax when the hairs are shorter, like several days to a week after shaving.
You are correct in that after waxing, the hair will grow back finer and more sparse. Over time some follicles will even stop producing hair.
Whether shaving or waxing, use a shave minimizing lotion daily. It will help keep your legs looking nice.

Before you wax, though, get a hair trimmer to shorten what you've got on your legs, otherwise the first time you wax, it'll be very difficult and will hurt a lot. There are lots of leg waxing kits out there, take the time to read the instructions on the different ones so that you are comfortable with the one you choose (your patience, amount of time it takes, cost, etc..). I like the hot wax ones, where you heat it up in the microwave, then slather on and peel off without using those expensive (and non-reusable) strips. They also come with a very soothing after-wax lotion.

I am male, straight and married and I go for full body waxings. It's more common than you would imagine and a lot of woman prefer it (I've done some research on here).
Don't wax yourself - get it done professionally.
Lasering is the only way to get rid of hair permanently but it's very expensive and you may change your mind and then you'd be f****d.
Happy hairlessness!

No, look at micheal klim, the Australian olympic swimmer, shaved clean from top to bottom from the time he started swimming in competition, younger than you are, waxing for cosmetic reasons is not a problem either, if it makes you feel comfortable, then why should you care what others think, good on ya Mate :o)

Go ahead and do it. I wouldn't brag about it though, a few girls will probably think that you're weird, no need for that.
You could also just save the money and use it at a tanning salon.
Best of luck.
