Would interest in R&S plummet if the fundamentalists weren't here?

Question

From the first time I came here, I've been absolutely amazed by what the fundamentalists actually believe..........and how many of them there are.

The curiousity of how anyone could believe such stuff is what got me started with posting here.

Now I'm more concerned than curious.

But if the fundies weren't here, I'd probably spend far less time here as well.

Are the people who have opposite beliefs to your own what keep you coming here?

yummygood.........people's questions and answers usually make it pretty obvious. If I'm unsure where someone stands, I'll sometimes check their profile.

Oh yes, - I believe it would!!!

I'm agnostic, and I can't tell you how much I've absolutely enjoyed viewing the sarcastic and acerbic arguments lobbed between brass-bound theists and hard-core atheists...

...save to say that it gives me a warm 'fuzzy' feeling; it's similar to how I feel whenever I see ants fighting....:-))

When this site has matured, the data base will be loaded into a robot, and the fundi's as you call them will realize what they've done. They will run screaming, when they hear their words from the yahoo oracle. And when the debates between yahoo robots begin, they will come screaming back to announce the end of the world. Mark my words, the screaming hasn't started yet, but it will begin soon...

Yes. I also find it fascinating what others believe. Before I started posting here, I really thought that nobody *really* took the bible stories literally, and that nobody *really* believed the creation story. I find it incredible in this day and age, and yeah, that's what keeps me coming back. It's kind of like a car wreck, eh? It's horrible and scary, but somehow, ya just can't look away... =)

I'd keep coming here. There are lots of interesting atheists, and even some theists who seem okay.

As a teenager I used to sit up all night with a friend's father, discussing religion. I was, even then, an atheist, and he was a JW. We enjoyed our talks, and neither of us ever went away angry.

They do, but so does the presence of people with beliefs I'm less familiar with, such as Judaism, Islam, and Hinduism.

Of course. If everyone thought the same, it would be very dull here. If it started to be all one sided because of censorship or whatever, this site wouldn't be to active, except for bored kids.

If all of us "fundies" werent here you'd all be arguing with eachother over something you all believe in. Really its the non fundies that shouldnt be here when it comes to the R and S section.
