ISKCON. Why-he didnt explain. Only because I asked a question- "is it important to become an ISKCON follower to be a devotee?Cant I follow my own guru? Some follower of ISKCON have said that I must read chaitanya adi lila and folow ISKCON preachings to become a devotee."What is said is the truth. Why did he call me"envious"? Is it right to accuse an innocent and honest person like this?Doesnt God dislike false allegations?I didnt report him because I respect freedom of speech. But I fail to understand why a young girl would be envious of ISKCON or any religious organisation!?

From the persons point of view probably Iskon is having more success to turn mass towards God then anyother organization recogonistions in public. When U always want to know if it is neccessary to become an Iskonate to realize God. It might have shown a iota of doubt that wether or not u can join Iskon or ur not able to join it. With that iota od doubt in mind u might have a minute tinge of Envy of why U cant attain divinity while a Iskonate can.

Whats envy? Envy is block to think of some attainment which we believe ourselves can never attain.

So if u truly believe in ur Gurus Words u will find his echo not only in the teachings of ISKON but also from everything even from a exterme atheist. So just keep moving in the path ur guru is shedding and then u will find all other paths are also there in ur path.
Hope this answer helped u a bit. Cheer up.

I'm sorry that you were called envious. no it is not right to name call.
I don't know very much about the whole thing though. In your notes to that question "is it important to become an iskcon follower to be a devotee?" (which btw, i believe is not important) you mentioned a deeper quarrel which i did not follow.... What happened before that caused you to ask this question? so i can't say for sure what was going on. Sometimes people say things when they are angry. People are having faults, we are souls that are covered at this time, so sometimes we make offenses to one another. This shouldn't be indicative of a persons heart of course... And also not indicative of the spiritual path's purity that the person is on. It is the impurity of the person. I like Aums answer very much. There are so many wonderful hindus, devotees of God on here and so much discussion can be had on here. We can learn so much, and we can inspire each other to study and realize more and more, and not be stagnant. I am grateful that I have the opportunity to discuss philosophy and devotion with like minded people. I also like deitos answer.
And if I have offended you or anyone else please forgive me also, I am only trying my best to follow my gurudev and speak what I have felt in my heart, and through scripture of Bhagavan and His glories.

Ok envious isn't even the right word to use...that just makes no sense. I have all the respect in the world for ISKCON, but to love Krishna needs no organization. You don't have to do anything. Sure reading some things put out by ISKCON and written by Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu may help in your spiritual practice, but are not absolutely necessary.

I personally read many of the texts put out by ISKCON because I think it is one of the more clear perspectives on the life, significance, and worship of Krishna. However, I don't adhere that closely to all of their teachings, though many of them I do find to be valid and do try to follow.

Ultimately your personal spiritual journey is your own, you can use several maps and several tools so long as they lead you to your goal. You are not required to use any one, sometimes you need more than one to give you as accurate an idea as possible.

No it was not his place to judge you on any level. If a religion or spiritual practice is giving you more love for God and you are feeling inspired, then that is good progress and should not be criticized. Especially if it is a bonafide process and Bonafide Guru. I do highly recommend Chaitanya Charitama ita Adi Lila. It is most ecstatic spiritual knowledge. I cherish it immensely. No one should judge someone on something, especially when they are innocent and not knowing about something. Lord Chaitanya is Radha and Krishna Combined (Lord Sri Krishna in the mood and complexion of Sri Radha) He came to give freely pure love of God and teach it by example (in the mood of a devotee) He is Krisha, but with Srimati Radharanies ecstatic mood and complexion, with the greatest compassion of all. He only sees ones good qualities and ignore their faults. So how can some other devotee judge you if Lord Chaitanya would not do so. I would just say don't miss out on the nectar of Lord Chaitanya, it is ecstatic knowledge. If you can, try to forgive that persons misjudgment. Real ISKCON is nonsectarian and beyond all religious designations and walls. Real ISKCON is Lord Chaitanya who gave pure love of God freely by spreading the Holy Names of God- Hare Krishna!

one iskcon member does not represent the whole iskcon. I have had many fights with iskconees, in my group, and i have some great friends too

Are you envious ? If not then why worry..Recently one of my contact Bond wrote-aum is responsible for religious fanaticism ..LOL

This is a public board anybody can say anything... i have heard abuses, dirty and insulting remarks and what not.

last year i asked a question on Krishna and only one hindu replied..all other just insulted. At least now we have many hindus talking hinduism.

cool down...and enjoy

Sorry to learn that you have been hurt by some unknown ridiculous person. It is not fair & I also condmn seriously. In my view we should all respect each other & never use the words which hurt other's feelings.
I myself have studied life of "Chaitanya Maha Prubhu" & feel He was a Avtar of Lord Krishna who came to teach us that how we can find Krishna by loudly chanting HIS NAME-Bhajan's. He is the Real example of a "True Bhakta".
One must remember "Devotee" is a person who has Devotion's of his Lord & that is possible only from the depth of heart & not by becoming a member of "ISKCON" or any other organisation set by some Devotee's for their own name sake.
"Chaitanya Maha Prabhu" is of mine or your's, or 'Gaur Math ' followers also & not only of "ISKCON" rich people only.
I request you not to take it to your heart In No Way you are ENVIOUS of ISKCON or any other organisation. I regard your view from my heart & apologise on behalf of thet unknown person who hurt you in such a way.

Tell me about it. I've been called several other names too for admiring Lord Krishna yet I am not an ISKCON follower by some irresponsible so-called devotee.

How I wished that Swami Prabhupada is still alive to remind them how wrong they are to condone such things... He is still alive in his teachings but some stubborn folks just don't take heed to his calls... who should be blamed?

On the other hand, folks, let's NOT criticize ISKCON for an individual perspective shall we? It shouldn't be an issue to condemn one another just because of an overzealous follower who disrespected another person.

Colors are vidid, they come in many different shades. Blue, yellow, red, orange. All these are different words used to describe the different colors. So a person that sees knows that blue is blue, red is red, etc. It is based off the reflections of the eye. So although a dog might not see colors, just as a blind person sees nothing, the human eye of a healthy person can see colors. There are also many shades of colors, there are primary colors, and colors that are created from these primary colors. It's sort of like the absolute, you either know it, or you don't.

I am a BIG devotee of Ram and Krishna. I have so much love for them and I have such a strong affinity/bond with them that I wouldn't even regard them as deities but rather as older brothers. However I am not a follower of ISKON. That is in no way to suggest that I am not a true follower of Ram and Krishna. I worship and follow Ram and Krishna in the context of my wider worship of Hanuman, Gayatri Mata and my Guru. ISKON is an establishment that is only a century old, whereas Hindus have been worshipping Ram and Krishna for millenia.

I have nothing against ISKON. There are two things that I don't like about ISKON however. Firstly, the manner in which they always dance and sing down the street (whether it is in India, New York or London). What makes us Hindus special and distinct from Muslims and Christians is that we don't feel the need to market our religion like it is a business product. By singing and dancing down the road and by going from door to door (like Jehovas Witnesses), ISKON deliberately bring into question that quality which makes us distinct from the abrahmic religions.

Secondly, there is no coherent or cohesive religion called "Hinduism", but "Hinduism" is actually an umbrella religion which entails many contrasting religions (such as ISKON, Aryan Samaj, Sanathan Dharma, Kali worship etc). What ISKON have a habbit of doing is to present themselves as the prototype and personification of Hinduism. For example, once an ISKON follower said to me that I wasn't a true hindu because I worshipped demigods such as Rudra. Recognition needs to be granted to the fact that Hinduism is a MASSIVE religion and that no one sect of Hinduism can monopolise Hinduism or pass itself off as being the ideal version of Hinduism.

Anyway, coming back to your question, you shouldn't care what the world thinks of you, but you should always look at the world with YOUR own perception. It is only when we strengthen OUR viewpoints and OUR opinions and thoughts that we can truly empower ourselves.

He probably didn't mean to insult you. He probably cherishes ISKCON and, to him, nothing else measures up. I feel bad that you felt insulted, but I can't help but smile at his perspective: he holds a treasure.
Follow your guru if you have one, but go visit ISKCON, too. Maybe you'll feel the same way, or maybe you won't. But keep searching for God in your life. Connect. Find a community. Bhakti is bliss.
