Would depend on the degree of it. There are some that have mild symptoms that are fully functional with med assistance.
There are others that have full-blown cases of ADD and it's just too much----those usually don't even make it thru Boot.
I'd say that if you're currently in the military, you're pretty functional. Just remember that a thorough testing of ADD constists of more than just "can't focus eh? Yep, you got it."
There are battery of tests to go thru.

No, you probably won't get kicked out for being diagnosed. There are many people that join the Military AFTER being diagnosed with ADD/ADHD.

Just like with any condition, it depends on the severity. I work with someone that has been diagnosed with ADD and they are hyper but they still get the job done.

How many hours of sleep are you getting per night? Most people truly need 8 to 10 hours per night. Are you drinking 8 glasses of water every day? Being dehydrated can make your thinking cloudy. Are you eating three times per day? Are you keeping in shape. I know you are in the military but that doesn't mean you are working out enough. You might try working out three times per week, it really does help people with problems involving the mind. If you are consuming alcohol then stop it.
Oh yeah, and DUH it is summer out, you would rather be out running around and goofing off than working.

Anxiety and depression can cause some of your symptoms also so wait until the DR. tells you whats wrong before getting worried ( to much that is ).

Stay quiet if you want to stay in. You can be discharged and it won't be a medical discharge. Try getting some more sleep and exercise.
