I have been offered this job with a govt department, which I am very much interested. So I wrote a thank you letter to the hiring manager for a wonderful opportunity they have given me n how excited I am & looking forward to working with them and contributing my expertise and knowledge to achieve their company goals blah blah good things. But I also mistakenly wrote, “ I am overwhelmed”(suppose to write over excited or overwhelmed with joy) by da time I realize it was too late sent already .it was a phone offer and I haven't yet received my written offer letter, I am supposed to receive this week on mail. Now m worried abt the offer being cancel.what should I do? Will that b such a big problem any suggestion.

I think you are okay if you sent the message to the person who made the phone offer. The rest of the note states that you are welcoming the offer, and that you are seeking to accept the position.

At least you wrote something back acknowledging the offer in a very positive way. If there was a faux paux, then it's minor at most.

You'll be fine.

Having been on the hiring end many times, I can tell you that things never seem as urgent to the employer as they seem to the potential employee. I'm sure that what you wrote in your letter to the hiring manager is going to make no difference whatsoever in their decision to hire you. They're just taking their time because it's the weekend, or the summer, or just because they're busy.

Take it easy. You're still in.

Don't worry about it. If they made you an offer, then they had already made up their minds they wanted you. They're not going to change it based on your letter (which they may not even fully read). Even if they were going to scrutinize your letter, I don't see anything wrong with what you wrote. They're probably just slow in getting the letter out to you.

Let it go, and quit worrying. They're not likely to take back the offer because of your wording that could be interpreted wrong. They'll more likely be impressed with your enthusiasm.

In the context you've put it it sounds like enthusiasm rather than anything else. I wouldn't worry about it.

well if they didnt hire you because of something that small you probably wouldn't enjoy working for that company.
