If there were personal belongings left over from everyone who ever lived, we wouldn't be able to dig a spade in the ground without hitting a couple of ancient hammers.
In an entire village of 200 people archaeologists might only find a couple of pots and arrowheads.

What personal belongings. Aesthetic Nazrite (a group conscecrated to God (which he was) he would not have owned any posession whatsoever accept the clothes on his back and perhaps another robe.
Jesus always owned nothing including the tomb he was buried in, so what would you have expected them to save. The change of clothes? If their was one it would have been used after the Crucifixion.
The message of Jesus was these worldy possesssions do not matter love does, give up everything and follow me in love.
That has nothing to do if we kept fiber scraps or not.
REPLY TO EDIT: Pesonal belonging were disposed of before he started his ministry. Besided being a carpenter in those day it is nopt like they had electric saws and sanders and such. Tools constantly broke and you were constantly remaking them. We call him a Carpenter but really they mostly worked in stone in those days. Not to much was durable.
How do we know about ancient cultures: Alot of guess work based of fragments, and oral histories.
The things that survived are buildings mostly, bits and pieces of everyday things, but mostly artwork to help us reconstruct and then those are mostly from the powerful rulers of the day.
AND yes people did used to give up everything in those days and live the aesthetic lifestyle. As an example I point to SiddhÄrtha Gautama (Buddha) or Krishana.
Where are Abraham and Issacs things? Jacobs? They are the father's of Judaism. Even though there are some, there are surprisingly few for Muhammad and he lived over 600 years later.
Take a archeology course, a history course of the time persion up tp about 500 CE, and a religious education course. They will help you understand.

Of course it goes without saying that the people of Jesus day did not care about Him in the end because if they did they would not have chose to crucify Him instead of a theif and a robber(Barabbas). However, because of persecutions, Jesus' true disciples did run and hide when He needed them the most. However, after they were endowed by the Holy Spirit, that is when they became bold. And lastly and most of all, Jesus did not own personal belongings because His mind was not on things of this world. His mind was set on doing His Fathers' Will. We humans are the only ones who seem to be consumed by earthly possessions. Jesus is our ultimate role model. After all, when all is said and done (when we die) what do we take with us but our salvation. May God Blesss U.

the late Pope John Paul II left no belongings behind either and don`t forget if it were not for modern technology future generations would have nothing to go on but written evidence of his life.
The joy of the resurrection meant too that they did not consider Jesus dead but fully alive and so they had little reason to keep personal belongings.

There are no personal belongings just as there are no portraits. People get hooked on the things and not the message. People can get hooked on the race or looks and not the teaching. His followers understood that.

Personal belongings have a tendancy to disintegrate after 2000 years. I'm sure he had personal belongings, like clothes and cookware.

As of the moment, there are no personal artifacts attributed to THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. However, St Paul who was a converted christian even said I was a violent man. And I persecuted the church of GOD because of ignorance and unbelief. Additionally, St Paul saw personally THE LORD JESUS CHRIST (1Cor 9:1). Thus, THE LORD JESUS CHRIST was actually a historical man though we do not have HIS personal belongings preserved today. there was great persecution of those that believed in Jesus-anything that was had was shared with others.
most important was the precious word of God-that helped me come to know Jesus as a Jew myself=he was already born at the perfect time to a virgin (Isaiah 7:14 a miracle sign a virgin will be with child who is God with us=imanuel in Hebrew)
He had to come before the temple was destroyed -which had the last way to point to Jesus in the temple blood sacrifice to cover our sins. Leviticus 17:11 -all the way back to Adam when God slew a animal to cover their sins and clothe them pubicly.
this is how I know this is true and know Jesus as my savior and best friend
As a Jew I prayed "Jesus thanks for dying for my sins and offering to come into my heart and be my friend, I am sorry please forgive my sins, come into my heart and be my friend, amen."
He PROMISED this "I love you and knock on your heart door to come in and forgive your sins and be your friend when you ask me in repenting quickly for your sins." Revelation 3:19&20
Jesus stated "I am the way the truth, and the life, no one comes unto heaven, but by me." John 14:6
Daniel in the Jewish scriptures teaches "To those that go to the grave, Hell is abhorance apart from God forever, Heaven is everlasting life."
Jesus taught about it in Mathew 24 as weeping forever with gnashing teeth for rejecting His salvation. and in Revelation 19-22 IN this 22nd chapter he also says to the writers of books after the bible "If you add to my word you will recieve plagues to your life."
Since I have come to know Jesus as my savior Messiah, and best friend-I have that joy and assurance, he corrects me when i think wrong and helps me to help others, not to reject him and think my own blood will atone for my sins-If you have sin you cant forgive sin with your own impurites. As Isaiah teaches too Isaiah 52:13-53:12 "He will die for our sins and then see his seed and prosper"
He came at the perfect time-if he was born now-for 2,000 years since 70 bce when the temple was destroyed, because he fulfilled the temple blood atonement as ordered (Leviticus 17:11) to cover sins and point to Jesus the Messiah our forgiveness of sins.
Publicly-there is a difference-Now Jesus is my Messiah, savior and best friend-
praying the best for you too,--Jesus does come spiritually every day to be our friend-and he will return from heaven this time-Acts 1:11 with pierce marks and my Jewish people will mourn as a mother for her only lost child (Zechariah 12:10).
Best wishes my friend, David
