Age is nothing but a number. It depends on how mature an individual is. I matured at the age of 12. I had to grow up really early in life because my parents needed help.
However, when it comes to your "affairs of the heart." There is no age limit, but mainly based on experience. So I say, age does not matter.
If you mean dating wise, if you date someone over 18 (if you are underage), you are risking the person's life you are dating. BUT if your parents are okay with it, then go for it, BUT if they oppose to it, they would gladly hand over the person your dating over to the authorities.

Well project ahead 30 years. It might seem too strange when you are relatively young to be with someone quite a bit older or younger, but think of what it will be when you are quite older and all of a sudden one partner still looks good and is in relative good health and the other one is really old looking and can't function very well. Think that one through. Do you want to take care of someone the age of your father or mother as a spouse? Or do you want a younger person taking care of you? I think that would make life harder. Love is one thing, but you can choose who you fall in love with. My dad used to say "you can just as easily fall in love with a rich man as a poor man."

You mean age differences? It's very important if one of the people is underage and the other isn't. In fact I would call that Criminally important.

As long as you are both old enough to be mature, age doesn't really matter. HOWEVER, if you're dealing with a minor, age is EVERYTHING!
