It says In God We Trust. I hope the day will never come to where He is taken from that too.

I guess it's the same thing as the atheist wanted God from public places. Everyone is intitled to free speech, even Christians. I don't care if you spend the money or not. Oh. I use my debit too. I don't carry cash with me. Don't get so bent out of shape with a question.

The religious right strongly influences our government, and much of the intent in using the 'In God we trust' and 'One nation, under God' slogans are intended to alienate the Atheists in this country. Both came into common use during the 'Red scare' of the 40's and 50's, just another example of Christian white males forcing their beliefs on the general public.
American Communist Party members recited the pledge of allegience at party meetings until the reference to God was added. just another group excluded by a slogan, as most were Atheist.
Thou shalt not take the name of God in vain.
Applying the name of or a reference of a deity to an earthly institution qualifies, and excludes the beliefs of non-Christian/Jewish persons.
And please don't say a reference to 'God' includes all faiths.

Hello,
Very much for the same reason that Christians must sail by to work each day and have had to pay big taxes for restoring and maintaining the pagan goddess, The Statue of Liberty.
She is the Greek Athena and the Roman Minerva, goddess of wisdom, philosophy, and civic virtue, the patroness of good government in Athens and Rome.
In short, they have no choice and must put up with it.
Regards,
Michael Kelly

Why do you think that your delusion should be on American currency? Do you think that only some Americans have rights, but not others? Don't you know that having that on our currency is unconstitutional? Do you care? Or do you put your religion before your country?
How would you feel if atheists were given equal time, and for the next sixty years or so the motto on our currency read "There Are No Gods?"

Who cares what's printed on the currency? I can't trade apples for services most places I go... I don't have a bag of gold to use instead... so I use money to buy stuff. Maybe I should get the ACLU to change the text of cash, huh? I could leave it alone, but you're making an issue of it!

And what are they supposed to do if they do not use the currency? Barter? Can you deposit sheep and chickens in your checking account and pay your bills? Do they take cash crops at Wal-mart?
Anyway the question will soon be moot because so much is done electronically, currency will become obsolete.
Do you honestly think that attacking atheists will convince them to believe in God? It does just the opposite.

It becomes a deeply rooted cultural tradition, like the oath at a jury trial or Christmas as a national holiday.

Actually using Biblical reference money belongs to Caesar.
Who's faces and names is it on the bank notes. Not God's.

I don't believe all the ads on the side of the bus, but when my car is in the shop, I might take a bus. I've only done it once in the past few years, but I didn't have to believe in the ads in order to ride the bus.

if christians don't believe in placing the God's word on consumerism and thus creating the false idol of money, why do they still use American currency?
