The Sovereign of the Seas out of Port Canaveral does offer internet access, but it is not cheap. It is a satellite connection, so it can be glitchy at times. They charge pre minute, or I believe you can buy a block of minutes. I always take my laptop.
When I cruise, I just wait until I get home to check my e-mail. It is always waiting for me. If it is the three day, then you will only miss the weekend. You could check. I do not know, but you might be able to find an internet cafe at Nassau that is cheaper. I know they have them at Grand Cayman and Cozumel.

I have been on many royal Caribbean ships the past two years and they all have an internet cafe. Some ships also have Wi-Fi service available. HOWEVER, its really really expensive. The last cruise we took last month on the Adventure of the Seas internet service was about $60 an hour. Wi_Fi service was the same. You can on some ship rent a laptop instead of bringing your own but the ships will have about 15 to 20 stations in their internet cafes.
While the access is high speed, it can be bad at times when the ship is moving, connection is slow. I always suggest to people to use an internet cafe on shore rather than on ship. In many locations in the Caribbean, and in other places, there will be an internet cafe right at or near (maybe a couple blocks walk) the port. We have found internet access in Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Costa Rica, Jamaica, St Thomas, St Maarten, and even in Europe. The rates are generally only about $5.00 to $6.00 an hour, vs 10 times that on ship.
So you decide if you want to spend a lot of money using the internet.

The Internet Center, known as Royal Caribbean Online, is located both in the Centrum area on Deck 6 and in the Business Center on Deck 7. There are several packages that can be selected, and wireless is also available for those who have laptops with wireless cards. Hot spots are located in several areas surrounding the Centrum but not in the staterooms, nor in, for example, the Crown Viking Lounge.
Taken from the webpage for the boat :) Have a great time.

I took my laptop the last time and use the Internet cafe on-board the Carnival ship... it was $$$ but I needed email access. I now have a cell phone that works as my modem for my laptop, so next time if I have cell phone access I would have Internet access. If you are checking email for work, then spend the $$ and expense it, you are supposed to be on vacation not working. (OK I know I couldn't leave work behind either) ...LOL One last thought if you have an Internet accessible phone/PDA you may be able to get your emails that way.

The last time I was on a cruise was about 5 years ago but at that time they had a kiosk in which you could check your email. It seems that there was a small charge but nothing like their on-ship phone charges.
You could probably contact the cruise line or call your travel agent to see about the specifics of your ship.
Have a great time on your trip!

Check with the cruise line directly. Our ship, Mariner of the Seas from RCCL had an internet room with about 20 PC's. It was pricey and the connections were SLOW.

last november I went on a Princess line and they have computers set up for you. Just buy minutes of internet use to check your email. I'm sure they have computers. You might also want to check out some of the areas you are going to - they might have free wi-fi spots. But it is a vacation - I would leave the laptop at home.

Im sure they do but it will cost you. They had a computer station on Carnival cruise. Check with the person who booked your travel or with your travel agent. They should know.
