If you have ever grieved for someone then you understand why Christians are concerned for Atheists.

In Heaven there will be grief for those who choose to be cast away from God, but, that Grief will be tempered by the knowledge that these people have chosen their path.

While we yet live, before the day of Judgment, there is time to encourage those who deny God to walk a different path.

Every soul which devotes itself to God is one less soul grieved over in Heaven.

Even though we know this is a choice people make for themselves anyone who has loved an addict knows how a Christian feels about Atheists.

And like Addicts in denial, Atheists tell Christians to quit interfering with their lives, that their lives are their choices and they are not hurting anyone.

PS: Now personally I think Drugs, Alcohol Prostitution, Tobacco, Atheism, should all be legalized. We can tax them and pay for the increased costs to society with the proceeds instead of wasting money forcing people to behave a particular way. Making things "legal", according to the laws of people, does not stop people from witnessing against them and for the laws of God.

The laws of people do not change the laws of God.

Well, even you and your parents have somewhat different beliefs, whether you've figured that out by now or not. Do you tolerate them? And do they tolerate you? Would you look down on them for questioning something in the bible if they found out it wasn't written by God? I'm just trying to remind you that we're all different, some of us were not forced to believe certain things while growing up. And some of us are brain washed and will never EVER question there being a God.
If you were to read a bible from a religion other than yours, would you agree or would you say they are wrong? Most religions have completely different views, opinions, beliefs and interpretations of the bible and of God. Who's right? And if someone chooses to not believe, the rest of us should beat them into a corner and label them bad people? For having thoughts of their own? Sounds like a very selfish question if you ask me.
So do you think Jehovah Witnesses should be accepted or TOLERATED since they don't believe there is a hell or because they don't think God is Omni Present? I mean they completely twist the bible around in their favor? Are they wrong? It's only your opinion if they are. They've also predicted the end of the world, how many times???
The answer to your question, whether you sinned or not asking it, is this -- judging someone is only a waist of your energy because every one of us has different beliefs. Accept them or waiste time and energy thinking about them. At least you have a choice, right?

we should always accept folks as we find them, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't offer something better, or receive their input as well. Tolerance is fine but it has a limit, usually when it adversely affects others. Atheists have a God-given right to their belief. If they would simply just say that to the Christian instead of attacking, we all might avoid all the drama around here (or not). Every Christian understands that God-given right and should respect it when that card is pulled out. It doesn't mean Christians will cease to witness though, as that is the mission God calls us to.

Yes. we all have to respect other peoples views on life just as much as they should respect your views. Sadly enough it doesn't work that way. Alot of really religious people i have encountered have done some kind of judging toward someone with different beliefs. And it is not right. We all need to respect the fact that not everyone has the same views as the rest of us.

Our 'Freedom of Religion' includes freedom of non-religion! Atheists have just as much right to not believe in God as Christians have to believe.

If everyone were more accepting of each other, maybe there would not be so much war and horrors in the world.

If christians want people to accept them as they are they need to show the same thing to those other than themselves. Respect is only received when it is given and shown to be deserved.

I think that we Christians need to take Jesus as the example on this one.

Jesus never forced his views on anyone, he simply spoke his beliefs to those who were open to listening.

I think that we have to focus a little more on preaching the awesomeness of God through our actions to others.

Peace to you!

Tolerant of Atheists. Is that like being tolerant of Jews, Blacks, and Homosexuals. I see why Hitler used Christianity to permeate his hate throughout Germany. The hate within Christianity already existed. He just stirred it up.

No you should spend a lot of time talking to atheists.

Judging by the theists that have tried to witness me we would end up with more atheists.

Accepting people does not mean not sharing the truth of scripture with them. If you saw someone about to walk off a cliff wouldn't you try to warn them?
