It's still going on...........every time I visit here there's christians or muslims asking why atheists come to R&S.

Since when did you need to believe in something to have the right to discuss it?

Aren't these issues which ultimately impact on communities and all those living in those communities?

When theists put pressure on governments and lobby other groups, don't atheists have a right to present our case in every forum available to us?

They haven't thought that far about it - they're just offended that people who disagree with them have the right to speak. Since believers are not used to having their beliefs challenged, it's a difficult thing for them, and they wind up lashing out like that.

For one thing, atheists are the ones unsure of whether or not they are religious. For another, they are the ones condemning others instead of discussing anything. Finally....I don't know where you get your information, but there are many atheists putting pressure on government and lobbying to prevent anyone from mentioning religion in public. I do not appreciate my tax money supporting programs that are against religious principles. Take outside the government if you must do so. Remember, atheists are pushing to separate church and state as much as possible. Simply suggesting you are NOT a religion does not make it politically correct. So, if you are not here to discuss religion, then I can see why it might not be readily accepted that you discuss evolution and other issues that are NOT religious or spiritual in nature in this particular forum... since there are categories where your case should be acceptable.

Yes you do have the right to present your case.

The Muslims who speak as such and wish to shut people (who by the way are not insulting their beliefs but are merely discussing something) are ignorant people.

Open discussions are an integral part of human communication. To stop it would mean to hinder a god given right.

Im speaking with my knowledge of Islam.

I cant speak for the Christians, let their lot speak for them.

unfortunately, thats the natural tendency of theists.they just dont get it.if we present our views they have the right to rebuke us but if they influence the rest of the society we dont?i appreciate the fact that you asked this question. anyway get ready for downright objection dismissals and "divine"interpretations(if that is what its called)
