The quick answer is no, however, you can special set covers that are made for seats with side air bags coming out of the seat. Your VW has side air bags that come out of the side of the seat back closest to the door to prevent injury to you in case of an accident. Most seat covers cover the entire seat back, therefore, they may delay the air bag in the seat from deploying. I remember asking the VW technical service people when they were first installed about the seat covers and they recommended no seat covers be installed on the seats with side air bags for this reason. There are some seat covers I've seen in Europe that are designed specifically for the vehicle with side air bags in the seat; they seem (if I remember correctly) that they had an open area so that the air bag could deploy. Your safety is most important: so I suggest no seat back covers in any case.

If your interested in floor mats, I usually recommend either the very heavy rubber ones or the tray type custom designed to fit the floor area. They can hold liquid spills (usually up to a quart), can be easy removed and washed out with a hose and also won't slide around as they are designed to fit the floor pan with a custom fit.

We used to sell those treatment for the seats and interior; you could do as well yourself with a container of Scotchguard or similar type treatment for hundreds less. The main thing is to let the treatment dry out completely before sitting on either the seats or the carpet as they can stain the clothes unless fully dry. We used to give out a loaner vehicle for 2 days because we wanted to make sure that the interior was dry.

Hope this helps, a car nut.
