Specifically, would the applications be processed longer if the applicant choose to settle in Ontario, a more popular destination, than those choosing Yukon, Newfoundland or Saskatchewan?

Application is expedited for sparsely populated provinces because people are needed thereat unlike in Ontario when there is an oversupply of workers.

Provinces are also constitutionally mandated to have a say in immigration policy so when a province needs more people (ie Alberta, Saskatchewan) they will loosen up their hurdles for admission. Other places like Quebec will have more stringent requirements (like how much French you speak) so you have to choose wisely.

The territories have no such rights so the Yukon, NWT and Nunavut will have no say. Being that those places tend to be difficult for immigrant labour to secure a livilihood though, the federal government will be especially stringent about allowing you to move there
