Over-priced and over-hyped. Also they came a cropper a few years ago as their main selling point was that they did not test their products on animals, however, like most cosmetics manufacturers they test the ingredients on animals.

The body shop and Lush used to be in business together until they split up and eventually lush bought their recipes back- Lush's fair trade foot lotion is body shops original peppermint foot lotion.
Body shop has now been taken over by L'Oreal- who also part own Nestle- known for their unethical way of trading, and L'Oreal also test on animals- so that body shop ethic has gone out the window too.
I would try not to shop there if I were you, if you are concerned about animal testing and fair trading shop at Lush- they also put money back into the communities where they buy ingredients from e.g. in one place they have built a school for the children of their employees

Well, I've stopped using Body Shop products a couple years ago. I was kindda young then, and my mum bought a variety of those products which I tried.
I think the most "memorable" was a coconut butter or something like that, and according to the salesperson, it's suppose to help in smoothing your skin, and she said that it's to be applied wherever you want at night before you go to bed. So as according to her, I buttered it onto my legs for a start, and I made sure so carefully that it wasn't too thick(I don't wanna waste)...Guess what? I woke up next morning realising my bed has been soiled by it, what's worse...not only is my legs kindda itchy, it didn't absorb a single bit, I remember bathing when I can feel tons of the soapyness on my legs...apparently, it just dried up on my legs.
In addition to that, I've also tried their cosmetics range, I got myself a foundation and I found out that it's totally too OILY...And the scent is so strong...arg, I ended up throwing the bottle away after a couple use.

Hi Im not too keen on The Body Shop I got a shower gel from there and I got a rash after using it and I dont really rate it like most people do. I think Lush products are better, if you dont like going into there stores beacuse they smell of alll the soap its too strong for you then it might me best for you to order online. I think The Body shop is expensive, I know its fair trade and stuff, but when you look at the products from Lush which are hand made and are not tested on animals, When you get soaps and other products from Lush they are unique there funny werid colours and ususuall but great, but I was expecting the body shop to have the same type if unique ness to the soaps and things, but they dont the soap and showergels seem to look like anyother shop makes like tesco and asda.
Also Lush is for the all for saving the environment, and they give you your products not in bags or wrapped up it you ask and the pots are all recycled and black rather than all different colours.
We have just got a bodyshop in the town I live in I wished for a Lush Shop. but never mind we might get one eventuall

Well, i agree it is certainly overpriced. Although some of the products are great, especially body scrubs and body butters, I think the perfumes and matching products are foul. The best smelling stuff is the fruity ones but then you could get fruity products nearly anywhere.
The Body Shop is certainly not a firm favourite.

I have been using their chamomile eye make up remover for years and always thought it was the best you could get BUT in hte last couple of years the product has changed and now it really irritates my eyes and does not work as well.
I have used other BS products such as body butters but I think they are overpriced

I haven't used the whole range of products but I swear by their silky foundation and coconut butter, both of which you can get cheaper elsewhere but the quality of The Body Shop products is second to none
