of course! And abortions have been around just as long. and condoms- in biblical times they used sheep membrane.
Through ignorance on the part of both parties- and maybe even today , there is confusion over which "hole" to use. When the urethra proved to be too painful and the anal canal was obviously the wrong one- they finally would get it right and 9 months later a child is born.
Withdrawal has probably been the easiest and cheapest form of birth control- though not very reliable.
In the 40's and 50's if you got pregnant you most definitely got married pronto. The girls father usually was the form of persuasion- hence "shotgun wedding" phase came into being.
A lot of girls would runaway and move to another state to have the child and then return home either with the baby with a "story" or just come back having given it up for adoption.
Probably since the 60's multiple partner habits have increased. then with the advent of AIDS that habit has become less popular and people are more cautious. I am sure the teenage population will always remain curious and cast caution to the wind and experiment with drugs and sex anyhow. so be it.

Discrete was the name of the game back then. You had the same values of today. It's just that it wasn't broadcast all over the place.
The TV shows and films of that era cast a shadow of virtues that didn't necessarily apply to all of society back then. Plus, the diseases that are around now not all of them existed in the 40's,50's or 60's.
I am not saying there wasn't anything going around. In the 60's the shot was a popular method of clearing up any of last nights mistakes and then you were home free to go out and do it again in a couple of days, weeks.
Adoption was a big one and abortions did happen, just not as safe as they are now.
To avoid pregnancy they used a method that is still used today. It was, and is, called the "pull out".
Condoms were used and all had a good time.
Goodnight.

OK, and I bet you believe that Mary, the mother of Jesus, was physically a virgin and not just "an unmarried woman."
All right, that was probably a bad example.
The Christian High School in the town where I grew up led the state in illegitimate pregnancies.
I have a 42 year old son that was conceived when I was 22 and unmarried. I was a late bloomer. That was 1964.
Anal sex was generally regarded as homosexual activity. I'm not clear when it crossed over.
Oh, and here's a correction: The Lambskin prophylactics are made from sheep's intestines, not sheep's bladders. Think about a bladder as a balloon, and the intestines as a tube.

Sure, it happened but it was not nearly as prevalent as it is today.
The main reason is that parents (plural) back then closely monitored what their kids were doing, and instilled a sense of right and wrong into them. The other factor is information (or mis-information if you will). Today, the culture is open and really selling sex. but most of it is a lie.
Anal sex was considered an abberration for the most part and usually only practiced by homosexual men (which was an abberation in itself).
IMO, there was nothing wrong with the way it was, except for the ostracization of the small number of girls who did get pregnant.
Open sexuality has caused more problems in our society than any pleasure it's brought. One day this will be evident to everyone, instead of the few who get ridiculed for saying it.
By the way, this is coming from a sexually liberated and active bisexual female.

You have to be kidding? right? do you think your generation invented sex? it's been around for a few years Bub.
We were a little more safer with sex, we were a little more discreet and had more integrity with women, treated them with more respect then you kids do today.
By the way, I'm in my seventies.
