Our house was buglarized last night and the thieves took a handbag and it contained, among other, my brother's car spare key. Now we are afraid that they might came back soon and steal the car too. How can we prevent this? He had an alarm installed in his car but I realised these days many thieves are way too clever...

The best thing is to change the locks on the car. Any good locksmith can do this for you. You may be able to have the cost covered by your homeowners insurance, as part of the burglary claim.

Good luck.

Install a starter disable on the alarm. It prevents the car from being started even with the key. You can also use other deterrants like the club, or a wheel lock like boat trailers have.

There is really nothing you can do, short of standing guard with a shot gun.

A real professional thief ( which sounds like thats what you have) can easily steal any car along the way regardless of alarms/clubs/garages/ whatever.

You can change the lock cylinders on each door and the ignition. Call a dealer for your make and model for a purchase option.

wire up a toggle switch under the dash that kills the ignition.
Even with the key, it will not start without switching the toggle.
I assume you've called the police.
